Smoke

Metropolis

Metropolis, is an almost perfect city with a few flaws. It is home to Superman and the Justice League. The Justice League were considered outlaws once hut even before that they were heroes. Now they're back to being heroes but they're trying to rebuild their reputation. After a recent attack by Brainiac, the evil, genocidal machine that tried to take over the world again, the public started doubting the heroes again. But heroes remained heroes, not outlaws.

The Justice League had just been attacked by the Justice Lords, a once thought ally counterpart to the League, but then it was revealed that Lord Superman, the Lord's leader was evil. The Justice Lords saw what they were doing was wrong and then turned their backs on Lord Superman to help the League.

Warhawk, Green Lantern John Stewart's and Shayera Hall aka Hawkgirl's son was patrolling the city with Marina aka Aquagirl, who was Aquaman and Mera's daughter. The two were dating. Warhawk and Aquagirl saw green smoke in Metropolis Downtown. They traveled over to Downtown as fast as they could and saw hundreds of dead bodies with smiles on their faces on the floor.

"Oh my..." Aquagirl said. Warhawk and Aquagirl were immune to the smoke but they knew what it was. It was Joker Gas, a gas of a chemicals that would poison someone and kill them, also leaving a vicious, sardonic smile on their dead faces.

"We need to inform the League." Warhawk said. Aquagirl look at the other parts of the city that were visible.

"Warhawk, look." Aquagirl said, green smoke was all over the city, possibly killing thousands.

Warhawk looked on a TV screen that was in an electronic store, the news was on. It read "Gases Released All Over World Possibly Killing Millions".

"Metropolis isn't the only city to get hit." Aquagirl said. On the TV screen, it showed Wonder Woman, Shazam, and Superman trying to get people to high grounds, where the gases weren't around.

New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Moscow, Paris, Sydney, Metropolis, Barcelona, Dubai, Chicago, Coast City, and Philadelphia were all being infected with Joker Gas. Every big city in the world but Gotham City. This was Joker's plan, to get the Justice League so occupied that they wouldn't be able to help Bruce defeat him.

Joker was in Metropolis, in his Red Hood costume, shooting survivors of the Joker Gas. He was eventually confronted by Warhawk and Aquagirl though. Warhawk knew who the Joker was so he attacked Joker first, but Joker electrocuted in the face with a joy buzzer.

Then Aquagirl tried to attack with a wave but Joker electrocuted the water and shocked Aquagirl. "Stupid girl, don't you know water and electricity don't go well together?" Joker pointed a gun to Aquagirl's head, "Nah I won't waste a bullet on you... yet, but when the time comes, I will kill everybody." Joker out his pistol away and walked out of Metropolis inhaling the green air.
