Chapter 29

Old Threat

Neo Gotham

Terry and Dick had just drove into Gotham. Dick had hacked Barbara's computer. It had Bruce's location on it. Bruce was at the Falcone Casino, looking for survivors or information on where Ivy was. The Falcone Family had captured her two decades ago and she went missing.

"We should get out of the car and leave it." Dick said. "If Joker knows we're here then he'll kill whoever's infected with his nanites."

"Why'd couldn't Superman and Wonder Woman come? If they could stay quiet and help-

"How would they be able to help? Their powers aren't supposed to be used in stealth." Dick stated.

Terry and Dick got out of the car. The Falcone Casino was only a mile away from where they were at. Terry look around. He was shocked watching people destroy the building.

"Don't get distracted kid." Dick commanded.

"Right." Terry said.

Terry and Dick used their suits to fly them to the Casino. Their suits had rockets at the end of their shoes. While flying, they made sure none of the infected saw them. Once they got to the Casino, they saw Bruce choking Don Falcone. The new Don Falcone was young. His father had just died so he took over as the new Don.

"Bruce..." Dick stated.

"Tell me where Ivy is!" Bruce yelled into Don Falcone's ear. Don Falcone was young and had black hair.

"She's below Botanical Gardens!" Don Falcone stated.

"Barbara told you about Ivy?" Terry asked.

"Yes." Bruce said. He knocked out Don Falcone with an elbow to the side of the head. "You shouldn't be here. If any of infected see you, Joker will know your here."

"We have to be. There are three epicenters with devices in Gotham that are releasing the nanites. If one of the devices is replaced with a cure, Joker would know and would kill everyone." Dick said.

"We need to replace nanites with a cure all at the same time." Terry stated. "Just wondering, why is Joker keeping everyone alive?"

"To use as an army or bait. If Joker didn't the people of Gotham, we'd take him down right away." Bruce stated. A moment of silence came upon them.

"Are you okay?" Dick broke the silence.

The Casino wasn't infected so Bruce revealed the lower part of his face. Green veins covered it. Bruce's skin was pale green too.

"This is my fault." Dick stated.

"It's not. It's nobody's fault except for the man who did this to me." Bruce said. "We can't worry about me right now though. We have to find Ivy and save Gotham."

"I know, she's at the Botanical Gardens. The Falcone Family kept her there for decades." Dick said. "She's living underground. We can't get her out unless we can use your Batmobile. You have a Sonar Shock that'll weaken the ground just enough to give her the ability to break out."

Bruce, Dick, and Terry walked outside. Bruce called his Batmobile and the three got in it. Bruce drove to the Botanical Gardens after the three got in the Batmobile.

"Put the Sonar Shock at full blast." Dick commanded Bruce.

Bruce turned up the Sonar Shock an fired it. A giant shock hit the ground. It felt like an earthquake. A minute passed and Ivy didn't break out of the ground.

"We have to drive the Batmobile in the underground tunnels. The Sonar Shock won't weaken the ground enough up here." Dick stated.

There was an exit for the underground tunnels a minute away. Bruce drove to it and fired the Sonar Shock again. Suddenly, a giant plant broke through the ground and wrapped it's branches around the Batmobile. The giant plant brought the Batmobile to the surface.

Once the Batmobile got to the surface, the giant plant opened up and Poison Ivy walked out of it. She hadn't aged a bit, much like Joker.

"Gotham will pay for what they did to me." Poison Ivy shouted. Her voice echoed through her plant.
