Your POV

Hi there, my name is (Y/N) (L/N), and throughout my high school years, I've always felt jealous about the guys at my school. Almost every guy here either as a girlfriend, or has a strong connection with one, like brother and sister. Whenever I try to do that, people will look at me and say...

"Eww, (Y/N) (L/N) is talking to us. We're gonna wake up with the coronavirus or some shit."

Indeed, hearing those words would always make my heart break into pieces. But I do my best to ignore such words.

But things began to take a turn for me when I headed over to a certain bakery to see a certain friend of mine.

"Welcome to Yamabuki Bakery!"

"Hi Saaya! Guess who's back?"

Saaya began to let out a smile.

"Ah, (Y/N)-kun. Welcome back." Saaya replied. "How was your day?"

"My day could've gone better." I answered.

"How was your day?" I asked in return.

"Quite alright." Saaya replied. "You won't believe some of things Kasumi said during lunch today."

"Oh really? Enlighten me."

As Saaya started chatting away, someone walked in through the door. It was another girl but with short ivory blond hair.

"Fufu, the great Moca-chan has made her appearance." The girl said while having a unique smile at the same time. Sounds like her name is Moca.

"Hi there, Moca." Saaya greeted. "Are you to get some bread?"

"You know it, and I am here to fill up my point card, too." Moca replied as she showed us her point card. Wow, her point card was close to getting filled out completely.

"In that case, feel free to get whatever you want." Saaya said and smiled.

"Will do."

Then Moca stared directly at me, and gave me a curious look.

"My my, what do we have here?" Moca questioned. "A new face to Yamabuki Bakery?"

"Umm, yeah, my name is (Y/N) (L/N)." I said, introducing myself.

"And you can call me Aoba Moca-chan, the queen of all bread."

"Can I just call you Moca for short?" I asked.

"Moca-chan will allow it." She replied.

Moca went off to go pick out the bread she wants to buy. I started to look at her from the distance, and just thought how interesting she was. Saaya could probably tell exactly what I was thinking.

"I know that look on your face." Saaya said in a teasing tone.

"Look? What look?"

"You're curious look." She said. "You want to get to know Moca, don't you?"

I went silent for a minute. This is giving me horrible flashbacks to how people were treating me at school.

"I don't know if I should..." I said. "She probably already has a guy friend that she has a strong connection with."

Saaya chuckled.

"That's not true at all." She said.

"And what makes you say that?" I asked.

"Most of the people she hangs out with are from her band, Afterglow, an all girl band." She answered.

"Oh, I see."

Soon after, Moca returned with a lot of Yamabuki's bread in her arms. Damn, like... is she really going to eat all of that?

"Okay, Saaya, I want to buy all of this please." She said as she placed them down on the counter.

"Haha, I should've expected less from you, Moca." Saaya chuckled.

"Are you really going to eat all of that?" I asked.

"You know it, my dear (Y/N)-kun." She replied. "Moca-chan can never get tired about the thing she loves to eat."

"Wow, you're more amazing than I thought." I said to Moca.

"Fufu, there is a lot you don't know about me, dear (Y/N)-kun."

Moca took her bread and walked out of Yamabuki Bakery. I was standing there thinking to myself how many she was. More amazing than me. To be honest, I might be a bit jealous.

A few days later...

Location - Riverside

It has been a few days since I first met Moca at Yamabuki Bakery. But after that meeting, I haven't been able to spot her at all. At first, I was beginning to worry, but... my luck changed. Right in front of me was a familiar ivory blond female.

"Moca!" I called out to her.

She turned and grin at me happily.

"Well, if it isn't Mr. (Y/N)-kun himself." She said.

"Nice to see you again." I said.

"Moca-chan agrees. Were you looking for little ol' me?" She asked.

"Well, kind of." I answered as my cheeks went red a little bit.

Moca smirked.

"Aww, you're too sweet to be looking for the cute, adorable Moca-chan." She said.

"You think so?"

"Yep. Moca-chan thinks you're amazing for doing that."

"Well, thanks, but to be honest, I think you're more amazing than me."

"Oh really? Why is that?" She asked.

"I heard from Saaya that you're pretty smart at school, have an amazing group of friends, and can probably eat twice as much bread as me." I answered. "To be honest, it makes me feel a bit-"

"Jealous?" Moca asked, cutting me off.

"Umm, yeah... How did you know?"

"Saaya told me some stuff about you, and Moca-chan knows how you can get jealous pretty easily." She would say that...

"Oh."

"Moca-chan thinks you have no reason to be jealous all the time."

"What makes you say that?" I questioned.

"Well, you say you're jealous at the guys at your school for having strong connections with the girls over there, right?" She asked.

"Yeah, that's right."

"Well, when you think about it, you have a good connection with Saaya, even though she doesn't go to your school."

When I thought about it, I realized that she was right. I can't believe that I didn't realize that before.

"You do have a point." I said.

"Exactly. Moca-chan knows exactly what she is talking about."

I decided that maybe I should stop being jealous all the time. And I have Moca to thank for that.

"Moca, are you free by any chance?" I asked.

"Am I free? I am."

"In that case, do you mind if I hang out with you?" I asked.

"Not at all." Moca replied with a smile. "Moca-chan loves to make new friends."

With that in mind, Moca and I started hanging out, and getting to know each other along the way.
