One...Two...Three

Katsuki stared at his husband's face, his head resting against a white, thick pillow. He was on his side, his beloved in front of him, silently dozing. The blonde had been awake for a minute or fifteen, only staring at the love of his life. Izuku looked gorgeous under the gentle morning sunlight that snuck through the cracks and openings of their thin curtains. His freckles stood out on his face, dancing from one cheek to the other. Katsuki couldn't help but stare. His lover was so beautiful. So precious to him. He continued to gaze at the small dots that littered his face, his ruby eyes moving from one to another.

Four...Five...Six

Bakugou faintly smiled, lifting his head off the pillow, his arm supporting his upper body as his chin sat on the palm of his hand, before gently trancing a finger across the bridge of Izuku's nose to his cheek. Izuku's face scrunched up at his soft touch, his lips forming a smile. Katsuki slightly smirked as he watched his lover's eyes flutter open, sleep still heavy in his gaze. At the sight of Katsuki, the greenette's smile widened. Katsuki's finger slowly moved to Izuku's ear before his hand cupped his cheek. He placed his hand over Katsuki's, closing his eyes again as if he was basking in his husband's touch that held so much love and affection for him.

"Morning, Kacchan." Izuku croaked, his voice raspy from only just waking up.

The blonde closely watched his features. He noticed the way Deku's eyebrows furrowed just slightly as if hearing his own morning voice revolted him before clearing his throat. Katsuki smiled at that, he loved noticing the small things even if they were completely irrelevant. His thumb began to caress Izuku's temple, love filled in each stroke.

"Bout time you woke up." Katsuki teased. Izuku chuckled at his words. Katsuki wanted to freeze time right there and then. He wanted to capture the smile Deku made when he laughed and continue to count those beautiful freckles.

Seven...Eight...Nine

"What do you want for breakfast?" Izuku asked. Katsuki hummed to mimic consideration as he rolled over and hovered over Izuku, his arms holding him up against the bed on either side of Deku's head.

The blonde kissed the side of his lover's jaw before trailing gentle kisses down to the crook of his neck. He continued to plant kisses up and down the side of his neck before muttering a small you that sounded muffled and short. Deku let out a hum of contempt as his hands ran up from Katsuki's hips to the side of his torso. Katsuki growled at the way his hands rubbed up and down the side of his chest and stomach, the kisses that were once gentle on Izuku's neck became needier. A sudden desire aroused in Bakugou, his hand found itself in Deku's curls as his lips pressed against the greenette's. He would have continued to go on much further if he hadn't felt the hesitation in Deku's touch and kisses. Eventually, he pulled away, letting his head fall softly against Izuku's.

"What is it?" Katsuki asked, his voice barely a whisper. Deku sighed regretfully.

"I have to head to work early to help prepare for the event they're hosting." Izuku looked his husband in the eye when the blonde lifted his head from his own. Katsuki could see the apology in his adoring green gaze. He only offered a small smirk, his hand cupping his cheek, his thumb caressing his freckles.

Ten...Eleven...Twelve

"It's fine, I have to head to work early too anyway," Katsuki said. It was a partial lie he made to make Izuku feel better. It seemed to have worked because his lover smiled and pecked his lips.

Katsuki took it as a sign for him to get off and reluctantly complied, kissing his cheek before he rolled back on his side of the bed and sat up. They changed into casual clothes before moving to the kitchen. Katsuki cooked (he refused to let Deku cook after he almost set a toaster on fire a few months ago) and Izuku made the coffee. A plate of eggs and rice and a mug of hot coffee were exchanged over the kitchen's island. The husbands moved to the dining table, allowing each other to enjoy a breakfast together despite their claims of needing to head to work early. While Bakugou scarfed his breakfast, Izuku took his time to savor it. He always loved his angry blonde lover's food.

Just as Bakugou was about to shove his last mouthful of rice with his chopsticks, Izuku hummed. He looked up, catching the view of the man before him staring out the window as if something caught his attention. The glow of the morning sun rested on his face, brightening his skin. Even as he was faced-to-faced with the rays of the awakening sun, Katsuki couldn't help but think it was still Izuku who shone brighter with that light smile on his lips. His ruby eyes lowered to his cheeks where his freckles continued to stand out.

Thirteen...Fourteen...Fifteen

"Look," Izuku spoke. Red eyes found green ones. Deku was pointing at something through the window. Katsuki placed that last mouthful of rice and scrambled egg in his mouth before standing with the plate in hand, the chopsticks resting on top. He walked over and stood beside Izuku's seat, staring out the window. "Isn't that so cool?" Izuku added, also staring at what he had pointed to.

They lived in an apartment on the third floor. Outside the window stood a large oak tree. And on one of the branches was a nest with three eggs resting in it. They had a perfect view of a bird family. Katsuki couldn't help the small laugh that left his lips. Izuku looked up at the blonde with an arched eyebrow.

"What's so funny?" He asked. Katsuki shook his head.

"Only you would get so excited over something like this," Katsuki replied but he didn't mean it in a bad way. And to show that, he planted a kiss on his forehead. Izuku smiled.

"I call naming them when they hatch," Deku responded, his eyes flicking up to Katsuki when he pulled away.

"All of them?" Bakugou returned the smile. Izuku nodded.

"Yep, since you're not nearly as excited as I am I get to name them all," Deku stated. Katsuki faked a scoff, his smile never leaving his lips as he ran a hand through Izuku's curls.

Sixteen...Seventeen...Eighteen

"Fine, but if the names are stupid I'm gonna laugh at them every day that they're in that nest," Katsuki said before leaving his husband's side to grab his mug and clean his plate in the kitchen.

"Rude," He heard Izuku say just as he left the dining room.

He smiled to himself before he drank the rest of his coffee. He cleaned his dishes and left the dishwater for Izuku. Katsuki exited the kitchen and returned to the bedroom. He continued his morning routine such as brushing his teeth, fixing his hair, and slipping on his shoes. He sat on the edge of the bed as he tied his shoes. Izuku walked in as he did so. Deku stepped into the bathroom and Katsuki sat there even after he finished tying his shoes. It took Izuku about fifteen minutes before he exited the bathroom.

Katsuki smiled at him and Izuku returned it. He approached the blonde until he stood in front of him, his scarred hands landing on his hips as Katsuki's hands grabbed his waist. Izuku leaned in, pressing the side of his head against the side of Katsuki's, nuzzling into him before gently kissing his cheek. Bakugou's arms wrapped around his torso, pulling him closer as he pressed his face into the crook of his neck.

"I'm sorry about this morning, I'll make it up to you later tonight," Izuku promised, his voice quiet and soft. His words were only meant for Katsuki and him alone. Something about that made Katsuki feel light, so in love with the man he held.

Bakugou snickered a bit out of longing, he already wished the day was over so he can get his "make it up to you" gift now. He peppered kisses on his husband's neck before pulling away to look up at him. He could see the yearning in those emerald eyes as well. Katsuki smirked up at the greenette who smiled gently back.

"I'll be counting the hours until then." He murmured, watching Deku's cheeks burn a soft red, the blush almost covered his beautiful freckles.

Nineteen...Twenty...Twenty-one

Izuku smiled before pecking Katsuki's nose and leaving their comfortable position. "I have to get going, Kacchan. I'll see you tonight." Midoriya said as he swiftly slipped on his shoes before exiting the bedroom. Bakugou reluctantly stood and followed after him.

"I'll make dinner tonight, don't worry about bringing takeout," Katsuki responded, opening the front door for his beloved. Izuku murmured an okay as he grabbed his coat from the coat rack  that stood next to the door before he turned to kiss Katsuki's cheek.

"Love you," Deku said before leaving.

"Love you too, dork," Katsuki called after, peeking his head out the door to watch him leave. Izuku stopped in front of the elevator at the end of the hall before stepping into it once it opened. He turned to press the button for the first floor. As he stood in the center of the metal room, his eyes met Katsuki's who still waited at their door.

Deku waved and Bakugou did the same until the large metal doors of the elevator blocked his view of his Deku. Katsuki exhaled a breath.

He only counted twenty-one freckles this morning. He'd remember this number so that when Izuku returned to the warmth of his arms he could continue to count the dots on his beautiful husband's face. So he can trace those freckles that he admired since the day he met Izuku. The same freckles that he caressed on their wedding day. And the same freckles that will remain in his life for as long as he lives.
