After the fall pt.4

"You boys are always so rough with each other." Inko Midoriya let out an exasperated sigh that had the slightest hint of a laugh as she looked between the two boys. Katsuki was laying on the ground covering a container of strawberries that they had grabbed to snack on before dinner with his body while Izuku attempted to pull Katsuki's arms apart. Mitsuki yelled at her son to share; his response was a very unsurprising "DIE" shot in her direction. Mitsuki rolled her eyes and looked over at Inko as if to say 'what more can you do when it comes to those two.'

"Give me some you stingy hooker!" Izuku yelled as he pried at Katsuki's arms. Inko wasn't even surprised or upset at his word choice. Honestly, she found it quite amusing when he used 'rude' language and curse words; it was just funny coming from such a kind person, and he didn't abuse the fact that she tended to overlook his occasionally foul language.

"NEVER!" Katsuki yelled back in response while trying to wriggle his way out of Izuku's grasp. "You'll just take them all!" Katsuki moved his arm up slightly and Izuku didn't waste any time. He immediately put his hands on Katsuki's side and began to mercilessly tickle him. "You bitch!" Katsuki yelled between unwanted laughs.

"Language!" Mitsuki shot at Katsuki.

Katsuki let go of the container of strawberries with one hand to grab Izuku's hand. He pushed his body upward and quickly found Izuku's other hand as he flipped the two over, the strawberry container discarded. Katsuki had both of Izuku's hands pinned above his head as he straddled Izuku's hips.

His breathing was labored and heavy. Izuku's eyes were drawn down to the rise and fall of Katsuki's chest, but he quickly brought his eyes back up to meet Katsuki's. Izuku swallowed hard as he stared into Katsuki's eyes. Katsuki's glare felt heavy to Izuku. He glanced down at Katsuki's lips just as he was rewetting them. "Got ya," he said triumphantly as his mouth morphed into a sly grin. The moment the words left Katsuki's mouth a furious blush crept onto Izuku's face.

Mitsuki looked at Inko with a knowing look and a raised eyebrow. Inko simply smiled in return, focusing on the puzzle that the adults had all started.

"Ok fine! You win! Keep the strawberries," Izuku declared as he pushed his way out from under Katsuki's grip and scurried away. The tingling sensation in Izuku's lower stomach was telling him that if he stayed in that position much longer he would have an entirely different issue to worry about, one that would definitely cause him more issues than not eating some strawberries.

"I'm going to change, it's really hot in here," Izuku stated as calmly as possible while walking as quickly as he could to the bathroom door without looking like he was trying to run away. He hadn't even turned back to look at anyone as he spoke.

The door shut behind Izuku much louder than he intended. "Sorry!" he yelled out to his mother as he felt himself physically recoil at the sound of the slamming door. That had to be a dead giveaway to his mother, he never slammed doors, on accident or on purpose.

Izuku looked in his full-length mirror as he let himself melt into a pile of embarrassment on the wall opposite it. He needed to snap out of it. Sure Katsuki was starting to be friends with him again, but Izuku thought himself a fool to ever want more than a friendship with Katsuki. He was probably straight anyway. Sure he had never had a girlfriend before, but that was probably just because he was so focused on being the best that he didn't think he had time to date anyone. "Idiot, just be happy with what you have," Izuku whispered to his reflection as he calmed down. He sucked in a few desperate gulps of air, even though he knew that his issue had nothing to do with the amount of air he was breathing in.

After a few minutes, he finally stood up to change. He had definitely lied when he said that it was hot, but he needed to change out of his sweaty clothes anyway. He could feel the sweat on the fabric, and he could definitely smell that it needed to be discarded for the day.

When Izuku returned to the living room, he found Katsuki in a different set of clothes as well. Izuku gave Katsuki an inquisitive look, which Katsuki returned until Izuku motioned to his new outfit. "Oh," Katsuki said, looking down at the tank top and grey sweatpants he was wearing. "I keep these in my bag just in case I ever need it."

"I know that I just- I don't know I was expecting something more... death and skulls and edgy." Izuku laughed a bit.

"First of all, I didn't really think I would ever end up actually needing to wear this. Second, why do you know I keep a change of clothes in my bag? Weirdo" Katsuki shoved Izuku's shoulder.

"That was rude!" Izuku exclaimed, feigning a hurt expression. "And seriously, you've always felt the need to keep extra clothes in your bag, you have since you were old enough to even think about being prepared for things."

"Fair enough I guess," Katsuki muttered before throwing a strawberry at the smaller boy. "Eat up Deku." Izuku smiled warmly at Katsuki before devouring the strawberry.

Dinner was a little awkward. The adults had collectively decided to wait until the two teens told them what had happened before commenting on the fact that Katsuki looked like he had just gone through hell and back. They had only decided to wait to ask at all because Katsuki didn't seem upset.

Izuku caught Katsuki's eye after the group had finished most of their food and nodded at him. Katsuki answered him by putting down the utensils he had been using. Izuku cleared his throat and quietly asked if they could talk about something serious. After a moment Izuku looked at Katsuki again, who signaled for him to keep speaking.

Izuku knew that his mother only watched the news at the beginning of the day and in the evenings before bed. He also knew that Katsuki's parents never really even looked at their phones while they were visiting. None of them would know what had happened, and if they had, they definitely would have said something already.

Izuku's throat suddenly felt dry. He used a, slightly shaking, hand to lift his cup to his lips. "Kacchan got... attacked by a villain today."

Perhaps the way he said it was too... casual? He definitely felt like it was, but he also didn't want Katsuki to get upset at him for making it 'sound like a big deal.'

Katsuki's mother Imeedetly started screaming, along with Inko and Masaru speaking in loud, hurried voices. exclamations of 'why didn't you say anything sooner!?' and 'are you hurt?' flooded the room. "'m fine," Katsuki said, wriggling out of his mother's inspecting grasp. "We didn't want to ruin dinner and I'm fine so we just decided to tell you after."

"You're ridiculous, Katsuki." his mother glared at him "You know damn well that you should have called us as soon as you were safe." If looks could kill Katsuki would already be six feet under.

"Yeah, yeah, whatever. I'm fine, I'm alive, All Might saved me." he leaned back in his chair before saying "Deku's news is more interesting anyway," trying to redirect their attention to the boy sitting across from him.

"More interesting than being attacked by a villain?" Inko asked in disbelief.

"Well, I um- I meet all might two weeks ago, remember?" Izuku reminded his mother, who nodded. Katsuki's parents appeared to have been kept in the loop of Izuku's celebrity meetups by Izuku's mother. "Well, when I went to try and save Kacchan he-"

"YOU DID WHAT?" Inko and Mitsuki yelled at the same time as Masaru looked between both boys, shock written all over his face.

"I uh, tried to save Kacchan from the villain," Izuku stated, looking down at his plate, he knew his mother would be upset that he had willingly put himself in harm's way, but he also knew that she would eventually get over it because it had been for Katsuki. "And All Might saw me and he- well uh- he wants to train me to be a hero."

"Oh!" Inko exclaimed in shock. She knew about what All Might had said to Izuku before. She didn't know everything, like the fact that he had left him on a roof, but she knew enough to be surprised that All Might would suddenly change his mind on Izuku. "And does he know about...?" she trailed off, unsure if she should continue asking the question.

"Yeah," Izuku lied, swiftly. Katsuki quickly took a sip of his drink to hide his shock at Izuku lying to his own mother. "That's why he wants to train me now, He thinks I have the natural ability to be a hero, and I have a quirk now, so he doesn't think I'll get myself killed or anything," Izuku took a moment before adding "not that I could anyway." with a small laugh.

It was silent for a moment before Inko spoke up again. "Well, I don't like any of this, But if you're happy and it's what you want, I'm going to support you but please, just try to stay safe. Even If that quirk of yours can stop you from dying, you can still get severely injured. It might not kill you but you could even end up paralyzed. Just remember that for me, ok hun?" She said, cupping his face with her hand.

"Thanks, mom," Izuku responded, leaning into her touch.

"Well, I guess if anyone is going to train you to be a hero it's good that it's Japan's number one," Masaru added. Izuku clenched his jaw for a moment before smiling.

"Of course! All Might is the best!" Izuku had said those words with enthusiasm many times before, but the words felt bitter and unfamiliar on his tongue. He smiled, brushing the hair out of his eyes. "I'm so happy I'm going to be able to see him almost every day!" Izuku bit his tongue to keep himself grounded. It was a lie, he wanted to be as far away from him as possible, but Izuku wasn't stupid, and he knew that allowing All Might to teach him was the best way to succeed at his goals.

"Anyway, what movie should we watch?" Izuku asked, desperate to change the subject.
