"YOU GOTTA GO faster, Levi!" Noah exclaimed while sitting on the front of the luggage cart, his equally stupid friend pushing from behind as we make our way towards the sliding arrival doors.

"That's your mans." Vera nudges Penn playfully as we walk side by side together, laughing lightly at her boyfriend. We were still giggling as we walk through the doors, the light from outside blinding me as we walk out into the arrival terminal.

I spot my mother instantly and it was definitely because of the large, bedazzled sign she was holding high above her head. She's the person I got my don't-give-a-single-fuck attitude from. She did what made her happy, an apparently stick on gems and crafting made her extremely happy.

I can't help but smile when I see her, racing past Levi and Noah and almost bulldoze my poor mother over as I wrap my arms around her.

"Oh my darling!" She wheezes through a laugh as she hugs me back tightly. I close my eyes briefly, reminiscing in her contact. I step back as she cups my face with her hands and smiles up at me, "I've missed you so much."

"Me too, mom." I grin back before my eyes flicker to the rather large man standing next to her. It was almost comical because my mother was incredibly small and he was at least six foot. I pause and blink up at him, "You must be David."

"That would be correct." He nods with an adorable lopsided grin. I let my mother go as I step towards him and give him a quick hug as he chuckles, "It's nice to finally meet you, Hayden. You're mom has told me so much about you."

"Good things I hope." I laugh lightly as I glance at my mother, "But then again she once told my middle school art teacher I wanted to be a stripper so...

Everyone laughs along as my mother blushes slightly at the embarrassing memory. I then turn around, seeing all my smiling friends standing there and I gesture an arm towards them.

"Mom, David, these are my friends." I introduce them as Vera steps forward, opening her arms towards my mother like Vera does.

"Come here, Mama." She beams brightly as my mom giggles and they hug.

After introductions, that I'm surprised went extremely easy without yet another humiliating anecdote by my mother dearest, we all heaved our bags into the back of David's large Range Rover. Mom had bought her own little grey Peugeot so all the girls climb in that while the guys go with David and all of our luggage.

Mom and Vera got along so well, the two of them chatting away in the front while Pen and I sat in the back. Penn, slightly travel sick from the flight, lays her head on my lap and tries to sleep as I run my hands through her gorgeous scarlet locks.

I breathe heavily, relaxing back into the leather seat as I stare out the window, watching as the sandy dunes becomes a large, familiar ocean and I smile. Here's to the next seven stress-free days .Hell yes.

I like to believe that David is punching when it comes to my mother, but at the sight of his house, I'm not so sure. It was right on the beach, meaning the ocean was his back yard. Mom said it was just a simple beach cottage but that is probably the understatement of the fucking millennium.

"It's gorgeous isn't it?" Mom ask as she comes to stand next to me, both of us staring up in awe at the pale weatherboards and white framed windows. Suddenly, the glass doors are thrown open and a figure struts out.

"Welcome to my humble abode!" Spencer announces, his arms wide as a large smile is spread across his face. Mom rolls her eyes at her nephew before turning and heading back to the car. Spencer chuckles as he jogs down the steps to meet us. I hug him tightly to me as he reaches me, the both of us laughing together. I then step back and turn to my two friends.

"Spenc, this is Vera and Penn." I introduce my two friends as Spencer steps forward and quickly wraps Vera up in his arms. They exuded the same energy, it was insane.

"Uh, excuse me?! Is everyone at Caldwell so fucking gorgeous?" Spencer questions as he quickly hugs Penn. They were both smiling and blushing like crazy from the compliments of my cousin. As Spencer continues to chat my two best friends up, I join my mother at the trunk of her car and begin to unload the few bags we managed to fit inside.

I was struggling to pull Vera's heavy as fuck suitcase up the stairs when the Range Rover pulled into the driver and all four bulking men hop out of the car. Well, technically three because Noah skipped out of the car with a big smile on his face. God I love him and his happiness.

"Do you need some help Jones?" Chase questions as he runs his hand through his hair, staring up at me with a smirk, "We don't want your twig arms to snap."

I drop the suitcase, huffing heavily as I glare back at him and lift both middle fingers to the asshole.

"Hayden!" My mother scolds from the bottom steps and I instantly drop both hands, "Why are you pulling your middle fingers at such a nice boy?"

"I wasn't pulling my fingers at a nice boy mother." I point my index towards him, "I was pulling my fingers at him."

Chase tilts his head back, laughing lightly as he walks to the back of the Range Rover and begins to help David unloads. Even my mother can't help but laugh, shaking her head at her non-filtered daughter as she continues to heave herself and the bags up the steps.

Grinning triumphantly, I turn and proceed to yank at the handle of Vera's Louis Vuitton suitcase.

"I remember walking into the kitchen, seeing the mess that had been made and then I notice this one climbing into the oven," Mom explains as she points her knife at me from the head of the table, "She was butt naked, covered head to toe in flour and butter because she was trying to bake herself!"

Everyone at the table bursts into uncontrollable laughter while I covered my flushed face with my hands. After everyone had settled in, Mom & David created a beautiful dinner and we all sat outside as the sun slowly set over the ocean.

And of course my mother would use this time to tell everyone my embarrassing childhood stories. I play with the sleeves of my navy sweatshirt, laughing lightly with the rest.

Mom giggles to herself before leaning towards everyone surrounding the table, "Did I ever tell you the time she stuck her finger up the ass of a billy goat-"

"Okay!" I exclaim as everyone starts laughing once more, "I think that's enough embarrassing stories for one night mom."

"Naw, I'm having so much fun listening to stories of little Hayden." Noah pouts from where he sat directly across from me, "I get to use them for blackmail."

I roll my eyes, laughing at my best friend and I stand, picking up mine and Vera's empty plates, "And that is exactly why."

Everyone chuckles as I take in the plates, placing them in the kitchen sink and glancing back out at everyone. I can't help but smile watching them, realizing that blowing up the cafeteria was probably the best accidental mistake I have ever made.

After the plates were all brought inside and the left overs were wrapped, everyone retreats to the living room for my mother's favorite game; charades. Knowing exactly how competitive she gets, I willingly choose to clean the dishes.

Never thought I would do that in my fucking lifetime but here I am; elbow deep in soap suds and hot water.

"Need some help?" I glance over my shoulder, watching as Chase makes his way towards me, swiping a dish cloth from the counter top. My heartbeat starts racing and I thought I was going to have a damn heart attack.

My brain buffers and I can barely form word, "Yure.."

Yure? What the fuck is that Hayden?

Chase chuckles as he comes to a stop next to me and begins drying the dishes. We stand in silence for a few minutes but it was a nice, comfortable silence as we listened to the entertaining ruckus coming from the living room.

"You're mom is really nice." Chase hums to himself and I look at up him.

"Yeah. She's fucking awesome and I have no clue what I would've done if I lost her."

"You can't think like that, Jones. Just be happy that she's here with you." Chase mutters as he gives me a reassuring nudge with his elbow.

I glance up at him and scoff, "When the hell did you become so wise?"

"I've always been like this." Chase smirks and winks at me, "I just don't want you to feel bad because you're stupid."

"How kind of you." I retort sarcastically as he laughs. I then glance back at the group, "Go have fun, Everett. I'm fine here."

"Are you sure?" He questions and I turn my attention back to him, realizing how close we actually were.

I nod and straighten my shoulders, "I'm a strong woman, Everett. I can handle this."

"Of course." He rolls his eyes at me before placing down the dish cloth and turns towards me. He glances down at me and a large smile spreads across his face, "You have soap on your face, you idiot."

Before I could react, Chase's soft fingers slip under my chin and tilt my face up to his. I notice the slight pause in his movement, the way his hazel eyes freeze on my face, the way his shoulders tensed. And I wanted him too kiss me so fucking bad.

Then, slowly, he wipes the soap from my chin and laughs casually.

"Thanks." I grin, hoping as hell that he couldn't hear my erratic heartbeat through my chest.

"No problems, Jones." Chase hums before he turns and walks back to the living room. I sigh heavily, letting all the tension in my body leave and quickly return to washing the dishes in silence.

Oh shit. I think I may have a new phobia; falling for Chase Everett.
