MY FINGERS DIG into the grooves of his shoulders and my palms smooth down his pectorals. I move up and down along him, my legs split on either side of his body. Sweat was trickling down my body as the sun peaking through the closed curtains turned out room into an oven. I breathe heavily and flip my hair onto one side, allowing a bit of air to meet the skin of my neck.

Chase's own fingers lodge themselves in the soft flesh of my hips, helping me move and keeping me steady as I ride him. He thrusts his hips up and meet mine in the most pleasurably way. His head was back on his pillow and the piercing sliver of sunlight slanted over his eyes, giving a gorgeous glow to the hazel depths.

We were both near the end and my pace quickens. Up, down, up, down. I attempted to spell c-o-c-o-n-u-t once more with my hips but by that time I was too fucking tired. I arch my back and swoop down onto Chase's chest. I press my lips to his neck and slowly make my way up to his mouth. When my lips meet his, he squeezes my hips pleasurably tight and finally releases himself. His expression alone was enough to make me finish.

I collapse down onto him and my face is tucked into the crook of his neck as I try to calm myself down. Chase caresses my back with his fingers and asI lazily roll off him, he slips out of me.

"When the fuck did you learn to do that?" Chase smirks after he had disposed of the condom. He rolls onto his side and props his head up on the palm of his hand.

"I've been researching." I grin up at him as Chase runs the tips of his fingers along my arm. His gaze travels down the length of my naked body, glistening under the small shards of golden sunlight glowing through our curtains. It was well into the afternoon and we had yet to leave the confinements of our dorm room.

"Well it was fucking amazing, Jones." Chase chuckles as he sucks on the skin above my collarbone. It was a small, intimate moment that was ruined by the shrill of my phone. Chase sighs as he reaches over to his side table and plucks my phone up between two fingers. "It's your mom."

"What?" I question as my head pops up. I glance at the screen, noticing she was wanting to facetime me and my eyes widen. "Shit, shit, shit."

I roll over Chase instantly and end up falling off the edge of the bed. I push to my feet instantly and rush over to my closet. I pull out a inconspicuous grey hoodie that I'm pretty sure is Chase's and I pull it over my head. I then grab a scrunchie from my desk and throw my hair up into a high bun. I run around like a headless chicken as I rip open the curtains and try to tidy up my side of the room.

All whilst Chase lay on his bed, laughing at me like usual.

I glare at him as I snatch my phone from him and sit down on the edge of my bed. I answer the call.

"Hey mom!" I greet, hoping she won't notice that I'm profoundly out of breath.

"Hayden! It feels like I haven't seen your beautiful face in forever." Mom exclaims through the phone. She seemed to be sunbathing on a pool lounge, a large sun hat covering her curly blonde hair and a pair of Prada sunglasses perched on her nose.

"Mom, you video-called me four days ago." I say deadpan as I see Chase rise from his bed. I frown slightly in confusion and watch as Chase slowly dresses himself.

"Four days on the coast of Portugal is forever, my dear." My mother cackles like the badass rich bitch that she is. She notices my distraction and leans forward, "Is Chase there with you?"

"Mhmm." I nod as I turn to the camera to Chase. Thankfully, he had just finished slipping his shirt over his body. He laughs sheepishly and awkwardly waves towards the camera.

He nods, "Hey, Andrea."

"Oh, are you heading out Chase?" My mom questions as she cranes her neck and peers through her shades. Chase slides his leather jacket from the back of his chair and holds it by his side.

"Yeah, I've got a therapy appointment at three." Chase explains and I quickly glance at the time, noticing it was 2:55 in the afternoon. We really had been in here all day.

"Well, have fun!" My mom beams cheerily, oblivious to the word therapy in his sentence. Therapy at Caldwell is never fun. It's a one to two hour session, spent in a small room and a very uncomfortable chair. The therapist is a middle aged man with a big ass nose and he aways wears crew neck sweaters and collared shirts without fail. Sometimes Miss Oakley is there, with her fucking holographic clipboard that she furiously writes notes on.

I have no clue what she's writing. She's probably just drawing a picture of dogs on crack.

"Bye." I smile at him as I turn the camera back to me. Chase pauses in the middle of the room and I could tell he wanted to come over and kiss me, but he couldn't. Instead, he just smiles back softly and quietly leaves the room.

"Is he gone?" My mom questions after the door shuts softly. I turn back to my phone and nod. "No kiss goodbye?"

"Mom." I groan as I lie back on my bed and hold my phone up.

"I know you two are a thing now, Hayden. I'm your mother." She giggles through the phone and sips on her very delicious looking cocktail. "Plus Vera told me."

My eyes widen and I frown, "What the fuck? How?"

"Vera and I use that app—what's it called—snapping chat? Get with the times, Hayden." She tsks her tongue cheekily and places a hand to her chest. I take note of the large rock on her ring finger. I loved it when David had first showed me back at Christmas. Holy shit, that feels like so long ago. "So, who said it first?"

"Said what first?" I question as my mother wriggles her eyebrows at me. It slowly clicks in my brain and my mouth makes an 'o' as realisation struck me. "Uh..I did."

"Really! I knew you would!" Mom cheers as she sets up higher and glances off screen, "Did you hear that, David? Hayden said 'I love you' first. You owe me twenty bucks, buddy."

"Did you guys seriously make a bet?" I question as mom points the camera to David who was chilling on the lounge chair next to her. David was pulling out a twenty dollar bill from his wallet, very begrudgingly might I add.

"Who do you think we are, darling? Of course we did." Mom giggles as she takes the note from David gleefully. She then turns the camera back to her, her grin beaming brighter than the sun above her. "I am relieved though."

"Because you don't have to pay your husband twenty dollars?" I scoff as I notice myself in the small picture window of the screen. I looked like a drowned fucking mole-rat. No wonder Chase was laughing at me.

"Partially." My mother giggles as she subconsciously glancing to her left where David sat. Her laughter then sobers up as she pushes her sunglasses onto her head and I stare into her bright blue eyes, "I was worried that I had ruined your sense of love. I was worried that what happened between your father and I had affected you in a way..."

I throw myself up into a sitting position, "Mom, I'm perfectly fine."

"I know...I just want you to know that it's okay to be in love. Love is a beautiful and powerful thing. And I was honestly so scared that you were never going to experience that because of me." Mom explains and I honestly felt really sad that she was blaming herself. "I'm sorry, Hayden."

"Stop it, mom. Seriously. You did nothing wrong." I tell her as I move my deranged hair out of my face, "You showed me what love is, mom. You showed me how to love. And you showed me how it feels to be loved. So I should really be thanking you."

"You're going to make me cry in front of all of these attractive pool boys." Mom sniffles as she wipes her eyes. She then glances to her left and giggles, "Oh, I'm only kidding darling."

Suddenly a text pops down from the top of my screen and I frown slightly as I read it.

Luke: Meet in the library in 5?

I was confused as to why he wanted to meet. As well as the fact that he wanted to meet in the library when his room was only a few doors down the hall. Maybe he's already there? He's making me fucking walk across campus—what a fucking gentlemen.

"Do you need to go?" Mom questions as she notices that I was distracted. I snap back to her, "I'll call you later ok? I'll probably be drunk on more of these cocktails but I will still be up for a chat."

I can't help but laugh at her, "I love you mom."

"I love you too Hayden." Mom lifts her drink at me as some sort of cheers and I giggle.

After we say our goodbyes and I hang up the call, I slip on a more presentable outfit; a pair of ripped jeans and a faded vintage band t-shirt. I tuck it into the waistband of the high waisted pants and slip my feet into my converse. I fix my bun a little more to make it not look so crack-headish, grab my keys and make a swift exit from the dorm.

I was smiling as I make my way across campus to the general library. Not even meeting with Luke could put a damper on my mood. Maybe it was post-orgasm feels or maybe it was the fact that my life was finally feeling like it was mine.

I push through the heavy wooden doors and into the quiet room. I notice Penn pushing a trolley packed with books across the space and wave at her as she smiles. I make my way to the back where Luke said he was sitting and find him tucked away in the back corner. There was no one back her. Red flag, Hayden. Red fucking flag.

"Hey." He smiles as I reach him. I sit down at chair across from him and place my phone against the table, "You weren't busy were you?"

I shake my head, "Nope."

"Great. It feels like we haven't hung out in a while." Luke grins before he slowly reaches across the table and places his hand over mine, "I missed you."

"Me too." I smile forcefully as I  retract my hands and place them on my lap. He notices my awkwardness and reclines back into his chair.

"He told you, didn't he?" Luke questions and I gulp heavily. Shit. Luke then chuckles easily and tilts his head back, "I had a feeling that Chase told you. Did he tell you his past, or just the part about me and his little sister Sofia?"

"I—I don't know what your talking about, Luke." I laugh lightly, trying to brush it off with a joke. I was not ready for this conversation right now. I was kinda just hoping to ignore this problem until it eventually went away. Which apparently never fucking works.

"You have to know, Hayden, that it didn't mean anything. I'm serious." Luke leans forward and attempts to reach out again but I lean back slightly. He could sense my uneasiness and he was having a great ol' fucking time as a result. "It was just practice for when I met the real love of my life...you.

Fuck.

I begin to anxiously glance around and check the time on my phone, "Hey, do you think the dining hall will be open? I'm really hungry so I should probably go get some fo—"

"I'm going to ask a question and I need you to answer it truthfully, ok?" Luke leans forward and raises his eyebrows. Shit, I felt like a child the way he spoke to me. My palms were sweaty and my heart beat was racing. Where the hell did Penn go.

"What is it?" I grind my teeth together.

There was a slight pause in the room. The air hung silent and stagnant. Then all at once, it come crashing down like fine china against tiled flooring. Luke leans forward and asks, "Are you in a relationship with Chase?"
