EVEN THOUGH I loved spending time with Chase, I really missed girl time with Vera and Penn. The three of us were in Vera's dorm room. Her one was the biggest of the three so it only made sense that we would hang out there. I think Vera's roommate Olivia is finally getting use to me because she actually said hi to me.

Okay, so maybe she just waved and then gapped it out of the room but I'm still counting it.

"And look how happy he is here! Look at his dorky smile." Vera gushes as she faces her phone towards us. It was a picture of Vera and in bed. They're wrapped up in the sheets together and Sam is taking the photo while Vera reaches out to stop him. It was really cute.

I lean forward when my eyes catch something, "Wait, Sam has a tattoo?"

"Yeah, it's latin." Vera says as she zooms into the inside of his bicep, "And I think it means 'while i breathe, i hope'."

"Wow, Sammy boy isn't as goody-two-shoes as I thought." I scoff as I lean back in Vera's pink fluffy desk chair. I tilt my head back, stare up at the roof and spin around on the revolving chair. I felt like I was floating in space, partially because of the pressure squeezing my brain.

"I miss him so much." Vera pouts as she stares at her phone. I've never seen her this in love before. Guys use to confess their love for Vera on the daily, giving her gifts and making her extremely uncomfortable. There was a time when I honestly thought she was more interested in girls than boys. The room goes quiet as I stop spinning.

Penn was holding up the ends of her hair so they just touched her collarbone, "Do you think I'd look good with short hair?"

"You'd look good bald, darling. It's actually so fucking unfair." Vera replies as she rolls onto her stomach and stare at Penn who was sitting at the end of her bed. "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?"

"The volleyball is actually just advanced hot potato?" Penn clarifies with a straight face. God she was so much like her boyfriend.

"What—no—I was thinking that we should cut it." Vera grins evilly as she pushes up onto her knees, "So?"

"I mean...Hayden?" Penn asks me for input as her eyes slowly find me across the room.

"Girls only cut their hair during a mental breakdown." I explain as I fold one leg over the other.

"Well, I'm in a perpetual state of mental breakdowns so let's go!" Penn cheers as she jumps from the bed.

And that's how we find ourselves in the second floor bathroom of Arlington Hall with two pairs of craft scissors and very shitty hair dressing skills.

"Are you ready?" Vera questions, glancing at Penn through the reflection of the mirror. Penn nods slowly, holding onto my hand as Vera snips down on the length of hair we had sectioned with hair tie. It falls to the ground, leaving Penn with her naturally straight hair brushing her collarbone.

"Oh fudge." Penn gasps as we all stare down at it. All at once, our eyes slowly raise and we stare at each other through the mirror. I think it was our shocked expressions that set off our uncontrollable laughter.

Two girls walk in, ready to brush their teeth, and stop suddenly at the door. The three of us stare at them in silence before bursting into laughter once more. The two girls turn and leave. That's fair.

Penn looked so different once we had finished cutting her hair. She looked beautiful and mature and so fucking amazing with short hair. She ran her fingers through the short locks as she stared at herself in the mirror.

"Next!" Vera exclaims as she gestures to me to come forward. I step back, my flip flop smacking against the tiled flooring.

I scoff, "Oh hell no."

Vera and Penn slowly glance at each other before their eyes slowly move back to me. Ten seconds later I was sprinting from the bathroom while Vera and Penn chased behind me. We were squealing and laughing so loudly that girls came out of there rooms to see what was happening.

I walked victoriously out the two doors of Arlington, my long hair still intact. I wrap my arms around myself as I walk across the courtyard outside but my confident strut slows when I see Lea climbing the few concrete steps. She was with her friend and her catty smile slowly turns into a scowl.

"Go inside, Hayley." Lea nods to the girl with short black hair.  She instantly scurries away, leaving Lea and I as the only ones standing outside. "You're still alive."

"Oh, don't sound so disappointed Lea, it sounds like you don't like me." I say sarcastically pout at her. "Are we projecting our insecurity and self hatred onto other people again?"

She laughs darkly, "You really have no fucking clue do you?"

"I don't have a clue about many things, Lea, you need to be more specific." I fold my arms across my chest as I smirk confidently at her. Yes I am aware of what I just said.

"You're too wrapped up in your own sad and boring life to notice that others have started to catch on." Lea flips her brown hair over her shoulder and grins at me. My smirk begins to falter, "I told you you'd fucking regret coming here."

I smile sweetly as I step closer to her, "Let's just remember that I've sat you on your plastic ass once before and I will gladly do it again. You don't scare me Lea."

"Really? Have you seen your roommate at all today?" Lea questions with a smirk as I try to sort through my memories of the day. Shit...I haven't seen him since last night. Lea than turns on the heels of her circus height boots and begins to walk towards the doors of Arlington, "You should really watch your back, Hayden."

I turn around and quickly hurry towards Elwood. I end up breaking into a dead sprint about half way there and I was zooming in and out of the way as people continued to litter the path. They all glanced at me weirdly as I raced past them at the speed of fucking light. And to think, I use to only move this fast for chicken nuggets.

When I finally stumble through the foyer of Elwood, breathless as ever, I head straight for the stairs. I climb up them as fast as physically possibly and almost fall flat on my fucking face. Why the fuck was I so scared? Lea is in love with Chase, why would she do something like this? Or maybe she loves him that much that she would actually do something like this. I honestly would not be fucking surprised.

The bitch is psychotic.

I burst through the door to our dorm, huffing heavily as I glance around the room. Chase sat at his desk and was frowning at me from his chair. He stands up as worry takes over his confused expression and I walk over to him and wrap my arms around him.

"You're here." I breathe heavily as I press my cheek against his chest. Chase slowly wraps his arms around me and I lean back so I was facing him.

"I'm always here?" Chase questions as he frowns down at me, "What made you think otherwise?"

"Uh..." I trail off as I move my arms up and lock them around his neck, "I just missed you. I haven't seen you all day."

Even though I hated Lea to the fucking core, I ain't a snitch. Plus I didn't want to make Chase more worried when he was already stressing the fuck out over university acceptance. They were just empty threats. Nothing to go crazy over.

"I missed you too, Jones." Chase chuckles at my dramatics as he presses a kiss to my forehead, "But I told you last night that I had a meeting with the Headmaster early this morning."

Last night?  Oh right, after he had just given me another mind-blowing orgasm. No wonder I can't fucking remember.

I smile sheepishly, "Right."

"You're so fucking adorable." Chase chuckles as he slips his fingers under my chin and tilts my lips up. He presses his mouth against mine and my eyes flutter shut.

But they snap open a split second later when I hear the creak of the door handle and I push off Chase. My back was to the door but I knew it was opening. Everything was a blur as I try to make it to my side of the room. I end up tripping on my way there and fall right onto my knees.

"Amen!" I exclaim heavily as I slap my hands together. The room was quiet and I glance up to see the Sergeant standing in the open doorway glancing at me with the most perplexed expression. I grin up at him, "Oh hey."

"I didn't know you were religious, Hayden." The Sergeant questions with a raised eyebrow.

Chase scoffs, "She isn't."

"I'm trying new things." I snap a sharp glare in his direction as I push to my feet and brush my hands over my knees. I then smile calmly as I turn my attention back to The Sergeant, "What's up?"

"There's a hall meeting in the common room in five minutes." The Sergeant explains slowly as he glances suspiciously between Chase and I, "It's compulsory."

"We'll be there!" I point finger guns at the large man as he closes the door; almost in slow motion. When the door was finally closed, I let out a breath that I didn't know I was holding, "Phew! That was close."

"What the fuck even are you?" Chase laughs at me as I skip over to him and place a kiss on his cheek.

"Your girlfriend!" I grin widely as I then continue to skip towards the door, "Now let's go before everyone else's fat asses take up all the good seats."
