Chapter 3: Atlantis

You were practically twiddling your thumbs the minute you woke up the next day. The anticipation of getting out of the hospital was almost unbearable. You then resulted in flipping through the channels on the television that hung over your hospital bed.

It was absolutely FASCINATING. The news was full of updates on the students of UA and Pro Hero sightings.

Unfortunately, you didn't get to see much of UA - as one bystander filmed Endeavor patrolling an area which made top news. You also noticed that he was labeled as the Number 1 Hero... concluding that All Might was already retired.

What an interesting timeline here.

You continued to watch the shaky phone videos that caught the Number 1 Hero. The man was massive and intimidating. Never in a million years would you even think of seeing a man of his stature. And his flames were other worldly.

Another video was broadcasted of fans surrounding the Number 2 Pro Hero, Hawks.

You stood up in your hospital bed to get closer to the television, thinking that would get you a better view of the Bird-like Hero.

"Heyooo! Lovely being here. Yes, yes. Oh, darn. Indeed. Mmhmm! It's a secret!" Hawks was trying to respond to the adoring fans that surrounded him; giving wide smile glances to the camera every so often.

His ash blonde hair was swept messily backward with some of the front tufts sticking up in arcs above his head.

His notably thick eyelashes fluttered above those piercing gold triangular eyes of his.

And then there was his signature crimson wings that seemed to trace his every movement.

The man was stunning to look at... but you were never really a fan of his. It was simply the sheer fact that this beautiful looking man resembled a bird of prey. It was definitely alluring to watch.

"Hey!! Miss Y/N!! Come down from there at once!" The nurse who had helped you when you first arrived here shrieked at your recklessness.

You instantly sat down into the stiff mattress, piercing your lips and twisted at your hospital gown's neck laces as if nothing had happened.

You felt like you were being babysat more than medically treated now.

It was definitely time to get out of here.

As your nurse gave you one more warning to take it easy, she left your room as the doctor entered.

"Good afternoon!" The Doctor expressed.

The man was tall, and had a pinkish tint to his skin. You didn't mean to stare, but you were just absolutely fascinated and curious of everyone around you. Pro Hero, UA student, or not - everyone here was special in their own unique way.

But you could tell that the Doctor whom stood before you whilst reading your charts back to you was at his limit. The bags under his eyes, his ruffled hair, and his almost sluggish speech gave away to too much time on the clock.

You inhaled deeply. "I am so... so sorry for this, Doctor. But I will make it up to you."

The Doctor didn't quite hear you as you reached out and gripped one of his wrists.

A tired mind was easier to enchant than a fully awake one.

You bore your E/C eyes into his as he stopped speaking. "You will fill out my discharge papers and bring me some shoes and clothes." You hummed. "Also..." You paused for a minute, cringing at what you were about to request next. "Bring me a substantial amount of cash. Be discreet. Uh... thank you." Your sheepish smile failed to make you feel better at what you were doing.

As you released the Doctor, he smiled in return and left to obey your demands.

You cupped your face in your palms. You absolutely HATED using such enchantment charms on another. To bend ones free will was wrong. And you hadn't done that since you were young - to get off of the streets to be exact... You were practically a Villain right now. Because what you did was illegal here.

A lump in your throat began to form from the sheer guilt. But you promised yourself that you would pay the good Doctor back. You were just trying to survive, right? At least... that's what you kept telling yourself.

The charm would wear off shortly anyway, and the good Doctor would only remember bits and pieces. You were safe... for now.

As if on queue, the Doctor appeared with a set of clothes and a satchel of money.

You squinted your eyes at the cash - it was a lot more than you anticipated. "How did you-...? I mean... Where did you get all of this?" You blurted out.

The Doctor smiled. "The illegal selling of Class A drugs and Opium-related painkillers from the Hospital Pharmacy. This is some of the stash."

"Heh?" Your jaw hit the floor as a nervous chuckle escaped your lips. "Drug money, basically. Well..." You pinched the bridge of your nose. This wasn't very Hero of you, but then again - what part of this situation was very Hero-like anyway?

Fuck it. You weren't a Hero just yet. "I'll let this slide today, because what I'm doing is no better. But that's it. If I see you again, and this is continuing - I'm reporting you. So... stop your illegal selling of drugs."

There. You've already repaid him.

The Doctor bowed and left your room with discharge papers in hand. You were free to go. Finally.

You jumped from the bed and threw on the black turtle neck, and black pants that were brought by the Doctor. A perfect and snug fit. You were surprised.

Gathering the money - you slipped from your room whilst following the exit signs. And as you came to the sliding glass doors to your freedom, you stopped.

You stared out into this foreign world through those doors as every fiber of your being began to tickle at your nerves. You were confined in a hospital when you had first arrived here, and the reality had not hit you as hard just yet. Fear and excitement mixed into one.

You took a deep breath, relaxed your muscles and took a step forward through the threshold of those glass doors.

The sun was bright - it's yellow rays stinging your eyes at first, so you gently closed them and craned your neck to the azure sky.

The warmth spread through your body as you inhaled the crisp air - surprisingly a clear scent for being such a busy city.

Opening your eyes, you focused on the crowds of people walking by - continuing on with their every day business.

The buildings stretched to the clouds - and the sounds of chatter, car horns, and speedy trains were a symphony to your ears.

This... this was your Atlantis.

Something about this place struck differently. And your body knew it. Because as you began to walk whilst blending yourself within the crowd - an alien feeling crept through your veins as they gently flashed their blue hue. It was barely noticeable, but your keen eyes missed nothing as you stopped and lifted your hand to examine the apparent blood dancing within you.

Your power connected with this world, and you could feel it. Sense it.

You then looked over to your side to see a beautiful little girl holding her mothers hand whilst staring at you in awe as she waited at a stoplight.

You couldn't help but to smile back - a smile that didn't feel forced for once. This child was admiring your beautiful blue hue before it had slowly faded. She wasn't screaming; she wasn't afraid of you... she was appreciating what she saw. And she saw you.

You then held your palm out in front of you - as you twirled the other above it. The glittering of air swirled within your hand as a beautiful blue rose manifested itself.

You then handed the flower to the little girl as she graciously took it - the sparkle in her big innocent eyes would be something you'd never forget.

The Mother then looked up to you. "That's beautiful. What do you say?" She nudged her daughter.

"Thank you!"

"You are very welcome." You responded. "That rose will last forever. So take good care of it."

"Are you a Hero?" The Mother asked.

You grinned. "No, not yet. But I will be."

"Let's hope so. You certainly fit the profile."

"Thank you. I've been getting that a lot." And it meant the world to you.

The woman then bowed as her and her daughter proceeded on their way.

You felt a trickle of blood come from your nose, but you quickly wiped it away. You weren't conditioned to manifest objects, and if you did, they were very tiny. And even those tiny objects protested against your body... apparently.

But you were so full of this natural high to let anything bring you down at the moment. When suddenly... the idea of flying occurred to you.

You were actually afraid of heights. Funny, I know. But being in control of your wings helped with that fear. But you've never actually took to the skies.

Making your way to the side of the walkway with little traffic, you smiled. And as if on instinct, the ripping of fabric was felt as your wings sprouted.

They were translucent at first, but slowly solidified and formed into the black and pearl ombre ones that you grew to love.

You spread them out; feeling every quill caress the air around you.

A few bystanders stopped to catch this rare sight, as there wasn't a single person other than the Pro Hero Hawks whom possessed such wings in this fashion.

Noticing the numerous cell phones that came out to film you - you quickly turned your back on them as to not get a good glimpse of your face. When suddenly you crouched down, and jettisoned from the sidewalk and into the sky - leaving a small and shallow crater in the ground behind you.

You didn't anticipate such force when you took off, but your adrenaline took over.

The air was unforgiving through your hair, as the force stung your skin. You could barely keep your eyes open - but you didn't care as you proceeded even higher.

Leveling yourself, and slowing your speed - you extended your arms out; your fingertips grazing the fluffy white clouds beside you.

Goosebumps formed up and down your arms, and the feeling of freedom coursed within you.

Tears began to fall from your eyes. Those same tears of joy that threatened to fall just the other day released like a waterfall. You weren't really an emotional person, but it was such an emotional experience that you couldn't control yourself.

But before you could bask anymore in such an emotional state, a flash of red struck by so fast, you could barely make it out.

"What the..." You trailed off - but the realization hit you as you saw a single red feather fly directly past you.

You cocked your head to the side, baffled as to why you were seeing just a single feather... but then you remembered.

Hawks. Duh.

His detached feathers could act as sensors, radar - acuminating the vibrations around an area.

Were you in his patrol area?

"Oh, shit."
