Chapter 2: Magus

'GASP!!!'

You shot up, trying to properly breathe. Your first reaction was to reach for your mouth, as something was blocking your airway.

But suddenly, a pair of hands rested upon yours, restricting you from grabbing at whatever covered your nose and mouth.

"It's okay, dear. It's just an oxygen mask." A kind female voice cooed. "It helps you to breathe. You're just having a panic attack, you need to relax. Shhhh. It's okay. You're okay."

Blinking a few times, you took in the face before you - of what appeared to be a nurse.

A young woman wearing the classic nurses hat, and a pure white smock.

You then felt the hospital bed beneath you as you gripped the sheets; trying to regain your composure.

But then... that's when it hit you.

The pain.

"What the fuc-...!" You spat as you fell back into your pillow, the pain invading every part of your body.

"You've suffered a substantial amount of damage to your body, Miss." The nurse motioned, still hovering over you. "Recovery Girl is just in the other room. And she will be in here shortly to tend to you. I can give you a few more pain meds to hold you over."

The young woman then began to administer a syringe from a vial when her words finally hit your slow focus.

"Recovery Girl?" You panted, still trying to ignore the pain.

"Mmhmm. And you're very lucky that she just so happens to be here today. Are you a Hero, Miss?"

When you laid there in silence with your eyes squinting into questioning slits - the nurse thought she had overstepped your privacy.

"I'm terribly sorry for asking. It's just that no one typically comes into the ER with those kinds of injuries - unless they're from UA or a Pro Hero."

You coughed, not quite catching on just yet. "I must be dreaming. A very good lucid dream, because I can feel EVERYTHING."

"I'm sorry, I don't follow." The Nurse, clearly confused by your choice of words.

"Give me those pain meds, please. I just want the pain to stop so I can wake the fuck up."

The nurse was completely baffled by your behavior, but complied as she injected your fluid bag with the meds. And before she took her leave, you stopped her.

"And uh... thank you. Thank you for what you do. It's appreciated." You forced a smile, as you truly believed that anyone working in the medical field deserved constant praise. Whether if this was a dream or not.

"Thank you so much, Miss. If you're not a Hero, you should be one." She smiled as she removed her nurses hat and took a bow of respect.

But as she removed her hat, a pair of horns were planted upon her head.

You didn't mean for your theatrics of dropping your jaw and widened eyes - but thankfully the kind nurse didn't notice, as she smiled and left.

"What did I just see?" You questioned. "Am I dreaming? I'm freaking dreaming! Wake up!!"

You then pinched yourself, only for that pain to trigger your already damaged body.

"Arrggghhhhh!"

Your breathing hitched, fogging up your oxygen mask as you tried to sit up once again.

'She mentioned Recovery Girl, UA and Heroes.' You thought to yourself. 'What's going on?'

You tried thinking back on the last thing that you remembered.

You were in your home, about to browse through your anime. You started to think about My Hero Academia, and how awesome it would be to reside in that world... and then... and.... then....

You thought harder, trying to keep as still as possible to avoid any physical agony. But that's when it hit you... you're completely broken right now. More so than when you first unleashed your power to it's potential.

Concentrating even deeper, you began to remember your wings sprouting from your back as you stood in your house, the blinding glow of your veins illuminating even the heavens.... and the last line of thinking you had...

Was wanting to be.... Here.

Was here really... HERE?!

"Am I... am I really in My Hero?!" You questioned out loud. "I can't believe this. Did my powers bring me here? How? Is this really what's happening?!"

"Oh, it's happening, Young Lady." A light voice interrupted you. "You've done some good damage to your body. More so than I've seen even with Pro Heroes."

You looked down to see a small older lady with her dark grey hair tied into a tight bun - surrounded by a pink helmet-like accessory around her head. Her white smock and dress hung loosely on her, and she leaned in even closer to you on her syringe-shaped cane.

"Recovery Girl." You whispered, barely able to move.

You were close to tears. But not because of the pain now... but because you were here. Tears of pure joy.

"Yes, it's me - in the flesh. Someone like you is very lucky that I was in the area." Recovery Girl stated. "What or who did this to you, if you don't mind me asking? Because I don't recognize you as a Pro. And I know most of the students who currently attend UA. Well..." The old woman paused, but had the most amusing look on her face. "I know the ones who injure themselves frequently very well."

You snorted, finding her dark humor amusing - but your entertainment was short lived as you could barely even do anything at the moment, let alone let a laugh escape your burning lungs. What did you do to yourself? In all honesty, you actually did not want to know.

But before you could even answer Recovery Girl's question, her lips puckered up and kissed what you assumed were your legs. The instant relief flowed through the lower half of your body - almost like a cooling sensation. It was impressive.

"I apologize for planting these smooches on your actual limbs." Recovery Girl continued, "But it seems that you're badly beaten, and this can help administer the right amount of life energy in certain areas."

"No worries." You assured. "I'm no Pro yet, Ma'am. But I intend on changing that." You finally answered her question.

Since you were in this world, you already made up your mind. You wanted to be a Hero.

Recovery girl bestowed you a genuine smile, her delicate and soft voice was just as comforting as her healing. "I always admire young Heroes in the making. I just don't want to see you this broken up ever again, do you understand?"

You chuckled, "Yes, Ma'am."

"You're a disciplined one, aren't you? You will have no trouble becoming a Hero, I am sure of it." Recovery Girl continued to kiss the different parts of your arms, the sudden remedy of healing spreading throughout your body. "So what's your quirk?"

"Ehhhhhh." You couldn't answer her. You were only left with a dumbfounded look that she couldn't even decipher. "To be honest, I don't rightfully know." You truthfully admitted. "I'm still trying to understand it; trying to control it. It's tough."

"Oh, dear. Not another one." Recovery Girl blabbered out. "Did your quirk do this to you?" Her tone laced with concern.

You scrunched your nose and pierced your lips - a silent, and yet loud conformation.

"Well... if you attend UA, be sure to say hello to Izuku for me... if I end up seeing him first, I'll introduce you. You seem to have something in common with the kid. Him and his friend whom he calls Kacchan - along with dear Shoto are always in the ER. But you already knew this. The trio who continually make it into the news as much as the Pros do... the Sports Festival was quite something with those three, yes?"

Your heart fluttered with the mention of Izuku, Shoto, and Katsuki. And the Sports Festival has already passed? Was this just like the anime or manga? How odd.

"But what is your quirk?" Recovery Girl prodded. "You must've registered it when it first manifested itself, yes? What is it registered as?"

Your eyes widened. You were technically a foreigner; an unregistered and quirkless person who actually did not exist in this world. You would have to change that.

"Magus" You blurted out - it was the first thing that came to mind.

"That's interesting. That's Magic in Latin, yes?"

You smiled whilst sitting up, "Well aren't you a charmer." You mused. "You're certainly everything I've ever imagined. Thank you."

"Yes, well, don't you end up being this beaten up again, Miss Magus."

You chuckled, "Y/N."

"Well, Miss Y/N." Recovery Girl admired her work as you were indeed sitting up with no issue now. "You are truly a kind person. And I look forward to seeing your Hero career shine as bright as you. Not to mention, you are absolutely gorgeous. No problem becoming a Pro with those looks and hard work."

You giggled, "One more for the road?" You pointed to your cheek.

"Now you're just being cocky. Definitely Pro Hero material." Recovery Girl mused as she planted one last healing kiss upon your soft cheek.

Thank goodness. Your headache was now gone.

******************

You were told to stay just one more day for observation. Your injuries healed surprisingly fast, and you were practically fully recovered. You didn't know that Recovery Girl's quirk could work in that way. You always thought she would simply kiss ones cheek. But instead... she also had the ability to administer the amounts of healing in different parts of the body. Odd... this was new.

Shaking your head of your over analyzing brain, you wanted to dart out of there so fast and just go explore! But... patience was a virtue, right?

You would also have to establish an identity - along with your so-called 'quirk' being registered. Unfortunately, you would probably have to use your power to influence your way to simply get out of this hospital. You had no way of paying for this - let alone you technically did not exist.

So much to do, in such little time.

But what you didn't know... was what was to happen shortly after being discharged from those hospital walls.
