chapter eleven || call me blossom

"What's a Kanima?" Deputy Parrish asks the 4 supernaturals in the room.

"Lydia's ex-boyfriend but don't worry, she's over him, so you still have a chance," Ariel tells the deputy, making him blush and Lydia nudge her in the side.

Scott shakes his head a small smile on his face. "We'll get back to that, just know that everyone like us, everyone with some kind of supernatural ability is on the dead pool."

"But I don't even know what I am."

"I'm pretty sure they don't care," Derek speaks up.

"How many professional assassins are we talking about?"

Lydia and Scott both glance at the little mermaid who staring out the window. "We're starting to lose count," Lydia tells him.

"But is it still just professionals?" Scott asks.

The deputy shakes his head. "I don't think Haigh's ever tried anything like this. I think he was taking a chance.

"That means anyone with the dead pool could take a chance," Derek says.

"But if Haigh had it, then who else does? How easy is it to get this thing now?" Parrish asks as the printer in the room start to whir.

"Careful with that," Derek warns Scott as he watches hun pick up the gun.

"I thought you didn't like guns. Does this have something to do with your eyes?"

"My eyes, my strength, the healing... all of it.

"Gone?" Scott asks in desbelief.

"Whatever Kate did to me, it's still happening."

"If the dead pool really was made by a Banshee then there's something else that you should know about," Scott tells him. Lydia, Lydia wrote your name before she wrote Ariels which broke the third list."

"Ariel? Ariel was the cipher key?" Derek asks with wide eyes.

Scott nods sadly. "Yeah, but there's nothing to worry about. We'll protect her."

Derek shakes her head. "You can't."

"Yes we can!" Scott says defensively.

Derek shakes his head again, already knowing the young girls fate. "Her name was picked by a banshee, Scott. Banshees don't predict danger, they predict death."

"Try Maddy, it's got to be Maddy," Stiles tells Lydia.

"Doesn't Maddy feel a little obvious as a cipher key?" Ariel asks.

Stiles shakes his head and points to Lydia. "I guarantee it's Maddy."

Lydia rolls her eyes, knowing Maddy isn't going to work but also knowing Stiles won't shut up until she tries it. The computer beeps in denial after Lydia types in the name.

Stiles groans and runs a hand through his hair. "Okay, okay your name. She left the code for you, right? So it's got to be your name." They watch as the computer beeps again. "Your mom's name?"

"Uh, do you have any beloved family pets?" Stiles asks after his previous attempts failed.

Lydia shakes her head. "Only Prada but my grandmother never met her."

"Alright," Stiles says pacing. "The ashes were left for you. The code was left for you. You're supposed to be able to figure this out!"

Lydia nods. "But no one else is, which is why she made it hard.

Ariel decides to speak up. "Have you guys ever thought it doesn't have anything to do with Lorraine?"

Lydia furrows her eyebrows. "What do you mean?"

"Well, I'm just saying that your grandmother, Lorraine, left all of this to you and only you. So what if the cipher key isn't about Lorraine but about you?"

Stiles eyes widen in realization. "You," he says pointing to Lydia.

"Me? What about me?

Stiles sighs. "What do you remember doing with your grandmother? You know, what was you guys, like, special thing? Did you guys go to the beach? You know, did you like ice cream or..."

"We watched tv," Lydia says shrugging, causing Ariel to snort.

"Uh, okay right, what did you like to watch?"

"The Power Puff Girls."

"Type that in, type that in," Stiles rushes her.

They all sigh as the computer once again beeps. "We used to watch it every night. I got so obsessed with them, for three months I wouldn't respond to anything but Blossom. It drove my parents crazy, but... Grandma thought it was adorable."

Stiles looked at her in disbelief. "You wanted to be Blossom the Power Puff Girl?"

"She was everything nice!" Lydia replies defensively, before typing the name in.

A list of names pop onto the screen. "You recognize any of these?" Ariel ass Lydia.

Lydia shrugs. "Just my grandmother."

Stiles sighs. "Guys... we need to call Scott."

"Hey, you okay?" Scott asks his beta softly.

Liam sucks in a deep breath. "Last night my printer went off by itself. I couldn't turn it off. I hit the cancel button. But it just kept printing."

"Printing what?"

"What the hell's this?" Coach shouts as his printer keeps printing papers of the updated deadpool.

Scott snatches one and looks at it. "You see the difference?" Liam asks his alpha.

"Derek's not on the list anymore."

Liam nods. "And I'm not worth three million, i'm worth 18 now. $18 million."

"Well, it's not another dead pool, more like an already dead pool," Parrish tells the three teens infront of them.

"All of them?" Ariel asks. "All dead?"

Parrish nods. "Within the last 10 years, all suicides, and all at the same place."

Stiles groans. "Eichen House."
