'Til Death do us Apart(Jin)

He loved you. You loved him. It was only natural for two people who love each other to be together, right?

Wrong.

You were only human. He was a powerful demon.

You were considered "nothing special." He was a wind master. What exactly made him fall in love with you?

The way you smiled. The way you spoke. The sound of your laughter and your beautiful voice whenever you sang. The look in your eyes when you daydreamed. The way your fingers worked when they tended his each and every wound. The feel of you in his arms. The way your hands tangled themselves in his hair. To put it simply, he loved everything about you. Because you always thought so lowly of yourself, he wanted to name and list everything he loved about you. He even said he loved you.

You knew what he loved about you. The only thing keeping you from telling him how you really felt was your lack of confidence. But somehow, he always knew what you wanted to say and became overjoyed when he read you right. Though he was happy knowing how you felt, he became even more so whenever you were able to express your feelings out loud.

Like him, you loved everything about him. His laughter. His smile. His thick Irish accent. His strength. His courage. His confidence. His will to protect others. The way he held you. The way he touched you. The way he caressed you. The way he looked at you. The way he whispered sweet nothings into your ear. The way he cared for you and others. The way he gently call your name. The way he kissed you as gently and as passionately as a lover would. And especially, the way he says "I love you."

Though you both went against all odds just to be with each other, fate would not allow you. Like any other mortal being, you were just as fragile... or even weaker. Even though the average life span of a human was around 70 years, yours happened to be a lot shorter.

One day, you were chosen to be the village sacrifice. Rogue demons had apparently killed all those who stood up for you. Who protected you. Not only that, rumours had spread that you were seduced and possessed by a demon. For that, the village elders only thought it right to sacrifice you.

As the dreaded day drew closer, you cherished every moment you had with Jin. On the night before the sacrificial ceremony, you allowed him to take you. At the very least, you wanted to feel what it was like to be loved so passionately. What it was like for your one and only lover to embrace you.

As the sun began to rise, so did you. Jin was still there and already awake. What had happened the previous night you both now knew it was real and that it was not a dream. Your face flushed red as the memories flooded in. As Jin embraced you in his strong loving arms for the last time, though he did not know that for you kept it a secret, you made sure that even in death, you would remember his touch, feel, and kiss.

When Jin had left, you changed into the traditional garments. Stepping out of your home for the last time, you walked onto the "stage." Looking up at the sky, you suddenly saw Jin. As you whispered his name, your world immediately faded to black.

Jin, too late to save you, remained there. Tears threatening to spill. Rushing to your home which you two had secretly shared, he looked for you. He couldn't and wouldn't accept your death. He would search for any sign that what had happened was just a sick and twisted joke, but to no avail, he couldn't find one.

When he walked into the backyard garden, he noticed a small tray set down. There was a letter, a cup of tea, and his favorite food. Immediately reaching for the letter, he slowly read it. Tears once again threatening to spill. He read your letter over and over again hoping that his eyes were deceiving him. Hoping that the words would somehow change.

Your letter made his heart break and at the same time, feel like the most loved man in the universe.
