"[Name]."

"Hm?"

I set my clipboard down and turned around to face Akashi. "What is it?"

"Why is it that I've never noticed you...?"

"What do you mean???"

"Junior high. We were in the same class. We were both part of the student council. We met in the library. But we never talked to each other. I always had the chance to go up to you but I never did."

He threw the basketball into the hoop and sat down on the bench right next to me seemingly frustrated with himself.

"Well we're talking now, aren't we??? C'mon. I'm not that important for you to get frustrated over."

"You are important."

"Huh?"

"You're important. To me. And it frustrates me that I never noticed someone like you sooner..."

I felt my heart beat fast. I felt my face get red. Is this a sign of cardiac arrest???

"[Name]... I love you."

"Eh!? You're not joking are you???"

He moved closer and tilted my chin up so that I would be looking at him.

"Do I look like the type to joke?" He deadpanned.

"Not at all!!! I just thought..."

"..."

'Damn. This is gonna sound like one hell of a cheesy depressing moment you see in dramas...'

I swallowed my pride and spoke, "I find it weird that someone like you... could like me of all people."

'Crap. He's still looking at me.'

"I mean. You're so perfect it almost makes me feel bad about myself... that I'm nothing compared to you... and telling me you have these feelings for me..."

I didn't dare look up at him.

I then felt his arms around me and I gladly, but reluctantly accepted his warmth.

No words were needed and I relaxed. I buried my face into his chest and sighed. "Are you sure you want to date me? Because I wouldn't even date me."

He chuckled. "I'm always right. Remember that."

"Hai, hai, captain~"

'Thank god the team already left... I'd die of embarrassment.'

Meanwhile...

"Awww~ my Sei-chan's growing up~"

"Damn it, Akashi!!! She was mine!!!"

"Quiet, Kotarou. They're having a moment."

"That was supposed to be my moment!!!"

"Can I please just go inside??? My food's still in there..."

"Poor gorilla..."
