Small World. Old Friends. (Hiei x Reader x Kurama)

"I'll give you two options: quietly return to the Spirit World with me and work till you die or help out my newest spirit detective."

"Hiei? Kurama?" you said, not believing what you were seeing. "If it's really you guys... you look awfully weak and... vulnerable..."

"Ah, _____? Hahaha... ironic, isn't it. It's been a while, hasn't it?"

"Tch. It's you. It's a given we're weaker and more vulnerable, idiot. You're the same as us," a rather... annoyed... Hiei butted in.

"As a matter-of-fact, I don't have any real limiters on me~ I'm only required to wear 'the seals' so my power doesn't kill anyone~ even in human form, I still retain all my powers," you countered smartly.

"What? That infant actually let you keep your powers!?" growled an even more irritated Hiei.

"Hai~ unlike you guys, I kept all my little mischief on the down low~"

"Hearing that from you, ______, kind of hurts," voiced Kurama.

"Hahaha~ gomen~ I just couldn't help but tease my favorite chibi-kun over here~"

"You wanna die...?" threatened Hiei as he emitted a dark aura.

"So how's the human world, Yo-kun?" you started, completely ignoring Hiei. "You have a slight human scent rubbed off on you... perhaps..."

"My human mother."

"I see..."

"You know... I've missed you so much, ______. It's been quite boring and lonely without you by my-- our side."

"Heh. Enough flattery~ Has the human world made you soft~?" you joked. "It appears you've become soft as well, Hiei."

"You're a complete fool for thinking that I've--" Hiei replied, trying to counter you.

"Enough with the bluffs. It's just the three of us. The humans have given up eavesdropping on us a long time ago. Plus, if you didn't go soft, you would've had your sword against my throat already. Though... it's refreshing to see that the both of you learned some valuable lessons. But I still wonder..."

"Hm?"

"..."

"Never mind~"

"Tch... I wonder why I haven't killed you yet..." scowled Hiei.

"Since it's just the three of us... why don't you share how you met Hiei?" interrupted Kurama.

"Ah~ I believe it was a few centuries ago... I was hired by a noble in the south to eliminate a small but strong faction somewhere in the east. Upon arriving at the location of the faction's hideout, I literally ran into Hiei. Because it's Hiei we're talking about..." you said as you rolled your eyes, "he thought I was an enemy and began to attack. Though I tried to tell him he wasn't my target and that I wasn't a threat, he still wouldn't listen and told me, 'Though you're hiding it now, I can tell you're spiritual energy is unusually high. Strange for a woman to have if you ask me.' With that said, I proceeded to kick his ass sending him right through the hideout's walls~"

"Don't remind me..." warned Hiei.

Upon hearing Kurama fail at stifling a laugh, "That's so funny? Why don't you tell us your story?"

"Hahaha~ eager are we? I believe it was a century or two ago when I first met her. As I was leaving the camp I had set up, I came across her sleeping by a river. Seeing her as a threat due to her great amount of energy, I attempted to kill her. Suddenly, my hand was twisted behind my back. She growled at me saying, 'It's rude to bother people when they're sleeping...' When we first made eye contact, she let me go and started swearing saying something about getting caught," Kurama added while laughing at the distant memory.

"Oi! It wasn't my fault! My damn employers were doubting my skills so I used up a lot of my power to prove my worth but then they just send me off without regenerating! So when I was watching you waiting for the perfect moment to strike, I fell asleep! Damn bastards..."

"That isn't very lady-like," reprimanded Kurama.

"Never said I was one. Nor did I show any signs of acting like one."

"A lady? Far from it if you ask me, Kurama..."

"Hey! I can act like one if and when I want to!"

"You can act but you sure aren't one."

"Shut up, chibi!"

"C-calm down you two..." sweat dropped Kurama.

"Hm? Haha... hahahaha~ I missed you guys so much~"

"Heh. I've missed you too. I'm sure Hiei has as well. Right, Hiei?" says Kurama nostalgically.

"Tch," was the only reply from the other male demon.

I know it isn't exactly what you asked for but I'd thought kill two birds with one stone ya know?

I know it isn't my best but it's the best I've come up with so far.

Lovely thanks to all my readers out there who have (obviously) read and followed this book or story (whatever you wanna call it), voted for it, commented, requested, added to reading lists, etc. It really means a lot to me. Every time I see that my story has gotten a vote or something, I publicly express my happiness (resulted in me getting hit by my classmate... it's a love hate relationship thing. Sorta. Kinda. Maybe.) I'm not sure how much this makes sense, but to sum it up, I'm very grateful.

Peace out ma lovely humans~
