Summary:

Following on from Winter's Tsukimonogatari, Owarimonogatari is the latest iteration of the Monogatari Series. Our familiar protagonist is once again the (very) adolescent Araragi Koyomi (Kamiya Hiroshi), who would just be a normal kid fretting about university entrance exams if not for his bond with vampire Oshino "Kiss-shot Acerola-orion Heart-under-blade" Shinobu (Sakamoto Maaya), which made Araragi into a half-vampire himself. There were times when he wasn't the main character, though, and Owarimonogatari goes back a bit in the continuity to fill in the gaps about what Araragi was doing while he was off-screen and, perhaps more importantly, turns the focus onto the closest the Monogatari series has to a villain: the enigmatic Oshino Ougi (Mizuhashi Kaori). What is she? Or was it 'he'? How did Araragi Koyomi get involved with this being? And is he going to regret doing so?

Own opinion:

The Monogatari series has been doing its thing for some time now, but for those of you who are new to the franchise, there's plenty of reason to consider getting into it (and if you do, start at Bakemonogatari). But it should be noted that unlike previous iterations Tsukimonogatari and Hanamonogatari, Owarimonogatari is not going to be a movie-length feature, but a full TV series. I suppose it's the 'End Story', after all, so it deserves more thorough treatment, but then again, it's probably not really going to be the end per se, since there's quite a few volumes of novel left to adapt, including the much belated Kizumonogatari.
