Summary:

The story is about two middle school rivals, the energetic, pint-sized spiker Hinata Shouyou (Murase Ayumu) and the scornful, gifted prodigy Kageyama Tobio (Ishikawa Kaito). Both of them want to be the best volleyball players in Japan, but just as they promise to defeat one another in the future, they end up in the same high school team, and have to work together to become the unbeatable setter-spiker duo.

Own opinion:

It's back! The sports phenomenon of 2014 is returning for its second season, and it's only going to get more popular from here on out. If you've been living under a rock or haven't got into sports anime just yet, Haikyuu!! is the best place to start. The Weekly Shonen Jump series is commonly heralded as the spiritual successor to the massively popular Kuroko no Basuke, but the fact of the matter is Haikyuu!! has actually surpassed Kuroko's peak sales and popularity; never underestimate the power of fujoshi and the appeal of emotional sports story! The same staff are returning for this second season, so the near-perfect adaptation is set to continue without missing a beat.
