~Starting Point~

INTRODUCTION

Once again, Hi everyone, Yukitina at your service. Nice to meet you everyone. Some of you might already know who I am and those people are the one who have read the first part of this Anime Guide. For those who discovered this first before the part one I want to say hello to you and I hope we can be friends as a fellow anime/manga lover.

As you can see my purpose here is to be your anime guide in the anime world. Feel free to ask me anything but of course it must me about anime or manga, like top tens, quotes, musics, and specially recommendation, which is the main focus of this guide.

Like what I said in the part 1 I'll be your tour guide in the anime world. If you're a beginner when it comes to anime and manga, or confused in some things you don't undertand and if you're having a hard time to find a good anime to watch or manga to read, then this is the perfect book for you! Yukitina is here to help you. ^_^

But of course before we start what is ANIME?

(Yeah I know, I already did this in Part 1 but for the sake of the others who haven't read it let's have another lesson.)

Let's just explain it in the easiest way as possible.

For me, anime, manga or other things associated with that, is my life, its my world! Seriously, if anime or manga is banned forever I'm going to die HAHAHA! -_- Okay I know I'm kinda weird but bear with it.

Okay let's get serious and go back to the lesson. So, if you are a beginner let's start from picking your preferred genre, there are different genre and this are some of them:

Action

Action! Ha, hyaa, Dugududun! BAM! BOOM!

....

Ahem, sorry about that hahaha! Okay so if you like thrilling and exciting shows that will leave you hanging everytime its ending is a cliffhanger then you need to pick this genre. Usually, the most popular anime are categorized in this genre. Like NARUTO, INUYASHA, BLEACH, and many more. But like what I said in part 1 if you're not into looong anime then this is not your cup of tea. Still, there's a lot of action genre anime out there that doesn't have a long series.

Romance

Sweet, cute, and other things that will give you butterflies in the stomach. If you want to feel that then this is your genre. Romance always targets young girls but there are also love stories that guys will also like. Example of this is ORE MONOGATARI, BOKU RA GA ITA, and many more.

In romance there's always the cute one and the serious type. If you like to watch a cute and sweet love story then try KAICHOU WA MAID SAMA as a start. But if you like a serious one that targeted older and mature people then watch NATSUYUKI RENDEVOUZ or CHIHAYAFURU.

And one last thing if you're a girl and you're only starting to like anime then you need to choose this genre. :)

Comedy

If there's a moment that you were heart broken or the world has turn their back to you (Lol, too serious) then pick this genre. Or if you just finished watching a tragic/sad anime that left you speechless then you really need to pick this one. This genre focuses on the things that will make you laugh. Comedy is usually teamed up with other genres like action and romance.

For starters, I think HETALIA is the best one to pick. If you want a light comedy then how about SERVANT X SERVICE or NOUCOME? But if you're into comedy that will give you this kind of reaction: "HAHAHAHAHA! I'm going to die!" Then you need to try SETOKAI YAKUINDOMO, DANSHI KOUKOUSEI, NICHIJOU, and of course the best comedy of all, GINTAMA!

Drama

Ugh the feels Ugh huhuhu TT^TT. If you want to dispose a lot of tissues at your home then choose this one. This usually have a nice flow of story that will move you and touch your heart. Some of the anime that made me cry is CLANNAD, ANGEL BEATS, ANO HANA and the one I'm recently watching PLASTIC MEMORIES.

Slice of Life

Cute characters doing cute things. That's what you usually see in a slice of life genre. But not all shows are like that, actually there's plenty of shows that have heart warming stories that focuses in family and friendship. Some of those are BARAKAMON, TAMAYURA, MUSHIYUKI.

Sports

As the genre says sports, the story is focused on sports. If you love to watch exciting anime that fights in different tournaments you should watch KUROKO NO BASKET, PRINCE OF TENNIS, HAIKYUU,BABY STEPS and many more.

Music

Like sports this one focused on music. Usually its team up in comedy and slice of life. Music genre anime that you should watch is K-ON!, LOVE LIVE but if you want a more serious anime that has music as its first genre then try HIBIKE EUPHONIUM!

Fantasy

The setting in fantasy genre anime is always like inside a RPG game. If you like fairies, dungeons, and magic powers then this is your genre. My favorite fantasy anime is SWORD ART ONLINE, DANMACHI and CARDCAPTOR SAKURA.

Mecha/Science Fiction

Do you love robots getting in action? It's the genre where the lead character gets to pilot a robot or something mechanical; this one is usually team up with science fiction. I don't usually watch this kind of genre I don't know why maybe I just really don't feel it. These are the anime that I recommend; CODE GEASS, ALDNOAH ZERO, EVANGLION and SUSEI NO GARGANTIA.

Horror/Thriller/Mystery

Jajajajan! *evil laughter.* If you want things that will scared you until you can't sleep or you can't look at your back anymore then Horror is your genre. Some good horror/gore is CORPSE PARTY but if you don't like gore then go to the light horror like GHOST HUNT.

While Thriller and Mystery usually have suspense and difficult story lines that will make your head explode from thinking. Good thriller/mystery anime are ZANKYOU NO TERROR, DETECTIVE CONAN and MIRRAI NIKKI.

Harem/Reverse-Harem

Its something that people want to experience.Protagonists are surrounded, usually amorously, by three or more members of the opposing sex and/or love interests. Male-oriented harems are usually common. While for female-oriented harems it is called reverse harem, its called the reverse harem where girls go kya kya because of handsome guy characters that love the protagonists.

Good example of harem anime is TO LOVE RU! While for reverse harem (which is one of my fav.) are OURAN HIGHSCHOOL HOST CLUB and DIABOLIK LOVERS.

Ecchi

I'm watching this for the PLOT yeah only the plot...(tsundere mode) I-its not like I'm watching this because of the cute girls...ba-baka!

Ahem...

When you hear the word ecchi what is the first thing comes into your mind? I know it's the plot (for those who doesn't get the joke, people from GIOBANO always call the bewbs "Plot" so people won't think we are perverts haha.) This genre usually mix with different other genre like actions or harems they are also known as fan service. But don't get scared if you see this genre because its not like hentai. Good ecchi anime are HIGHSCHOOL OF THE DEAD and HIGHSCHOOL DXD.

And for the last is the two genres that people don't usually watch:

Yaoi/Shounen Ai

Like I said this is my heaven! Yep I'm a yaoi lover in other words a fujoshi! But of course I won't focus on this genre because I love it and many people finds this genre disturbing but I don't care I love what I love we have our own taste. Yaoi is also known as boys love where two guys falling in love with each other. If you want to try a different genre then try this, I recommend SEKAIICHI HATSUKOI and JUNJOU ROMANTICA. Not Boku no pico, okay? Don't watch it okay!

...

Seriously, don't watch boku no pico...it will became your greatest fear.

Yuri/Shoujo Ai

Yuri is also known as girls love or two girls falling in love to each other. Well I don't watch anime with this genre maybe because as a fellow girl it might awaken something inside me so its pretty awkward to see two girls getting hot to each other. But there's two yuri anime that I love like MARIA HOLIC and SAKURA KISS.
