Chapter Fourteen

Aonung smiled, tilting his head at Neteyam's tense tone, waking towards him.
"Of course we can."

Neteyam smiled, taking Aonung's hand and waking them out of the hut.
Aonung rolled his eyes as their families watched them leave together. Hand in hand. Smiles on all of their faces.

Neteyam led him to a grove of trees, a floating mountain above them. Spraying a light mist on the forest floor.
"This is my favorite place other than the sky."

Aonung smiled, turning his head to look at the trees. Chuckling as small drops of water his his face.
"Why?"

Neteyam looked up to the sky, closing his eyes as he smiled.
"The trees are high, the ground is soft. The mountain never stops it's flow of water. Making this a very healthy ground."

Neteyam looked down, water dripping from his face, down his neck.
"This is where I was going to tell you. About our baby."

Aonung turned to Neteyam, watching him carefully.
For once, they were talking. Not arguing.
Neteyam chuckled, crouching and gently touching the Flora around them.
"I could imagine it. Our child happy. Running around the forest, playing with the creatures at the reef. It was a perfect life. It turned sour when our child joined Eywa. I couldn't imagine another child. It was painful, knowing I could have a child but not our first, it still is. Sometimes unbearably."

Aonung carefully took a step forward, tilting his head down to look at his mate.
"Teyam. I am glad you are talking to me, but I know you. There is something you are worried to tell me. I know what it's about. You don't have to be. Tell me what will help you."

Neteyam smiled, standing and facing Aonung. He carefully placed a hand on his chest, his warmth flowing through his body.
"My love. It is not that simple. When I do what I need, to make me feel right. When I come out of the other side, I will be looked at differently. By friends, family, you. It is complicated, Aon."

Aonung shook his head, wrapping his hand on top of Neteyam's.
"I love you, Neteyam. You are wise and strong. Wise enough to be Olo'eyktan. It wasn't just by birthright, you were chosen by your people. You do not make decisions lightly. I love you, for you. Nothing will change the way I see you."

Neteyam smiled, carefully wrapping his arms around Aonung's neck. Leaning forward and kissing him.
Aonung wrapped his arms around his waist, holding him tight against his chest.
Missing the feeling he would receive at any touch.

Neteyam pulled back, keeping his arms around him.
"What they did to me, deserves nothing but their death. It is time for another war, Aon. It's time for revenge."

Neteyam set the map on the table, warriors and his family around him. He kept Lo'ak by his side, translating to his father.
Jake new the Na'vi language, yes. But he wasn't completely fluent. Lack of intelligence, their mom would say.
"Their posts are here and here. One for from the mountain banshee's, one close to the far river. First one has thirty. Second twenty."

Neteyam looked up, crossing his arms. Looking between them.
"Hi'ná and Uveyí will take group 1 to the first post, distract and kill. Leave no survivers. Half will be in the air, two in the trees, everyone else on the ground. Gu'man and Vo'rofay, take post 2 with the second group of warriors. Same rules apply."

The four nodded, looking to the one they would fight with.
Uveyí stepped forward, pining his hair up.
"What of you?"

Neteyam smiled, pointing to a clearing. It had a river by it, trees and rocks around it as well.
"Miles and Spider were seen heading in this direction. I sent Ver'inö to look from above yesterday. Their here. At the Trees of Water. But they had other. Forty, maybe fifty. I'll go there. Efio with me and group 3. The rest of the warriors will stay here, protecting the clan in case something goes wrong. Ver'inö will be in charge of the group stationed here. Make sure to report to him as well."

Everyone nodded, soon grabbing their weapons to sharpen them. Some checking the ammunition they had.

Neteyam straightened up, using his hands to lean on the table.
"This will not be easy. They have one-hundred soldiers. Plus, some will be in Avatar bodies. Do not separate from your group, leave it up to who's in charge to report. We get one chance. So far, we have the element of surprise. We need to keep it that way. No miscommunication, no mistakes. Tree warriors will carry bows, sky will take guns. On ground, use what you want. Is that understood?"

Everyone nodded, soon walking off. Some staying.
Hi'ná smiled, walking over to Neteyam and putting a hand on the side of his face.
"Mighty warrior."

Neteyam smiled, waving her off as she left for her hut.
He turned back to his family, swallowing his opinions.
"You sure you wish to come?"

They all nodded, looking between each other.

Neteyam sighed, scratching the back of his head.
"Fine. You'll be with my group. Dad, your trained in guns, you'll be with the Ikran riders. Mom too. Tonowari has been most progressed with a bow, but not climbing. Take low ground in the trees. Ronal as well. Kiri, stay with Tsireya. You are both wise is medical. If anyone is injured, help them if you can. Lo'ak, you will be in the trees with a bow and spear. Aonung and Rotxo, you will be in the trees as well."

They all nodded, some hesitant with their positions. Much rathering to be on the ground.

"Look, if any of you get hurt, the warriors will not stop to help. Helo yourselves. Run into the forest, take care of it. If you can, walk it off. If your hesitant to see blood, do yourself a favor, don't come."

Kiri swallowed, slightly removing herself from Rotxo's arms.
"Brother?"

Neteyam looked over to her, raising his eyebrows.
Kiri took a step forward, running a hand down her arm.
"What will you do about Spider?"

Neteyam looked down, folding up the map and setting it by his weapons.
"He is Miles son."

Kiri shook her head, clasping her hands together.
"That's not his choice! Neteyam, he was like our brother!"

Neteyam sighed, leaning against the table.
"And I was like his. Yet, knowing the hell Miles put our family through and that I was shot, he went back and saved his life. Then he ran. I'm not killing him Kiri, but I'm not putting him back in this forest. I would be senseless too. He'll live, until he gives me a reason to change that."

Kiri sighed, stepping back and swallowing. Rotxo wrapping an arm around her.
"Dad would not do this."

Neteyam laughed, rubbing his ear.
"I am not our father."
He looked to Jake, his heart closing at the way his father looked at him like he was a disappointment.
"And I'm better for it. If you're coming, we leave at sunset."

Neteyam looked around the clearing, seeing the warriors coming out of the trees.
"We go, now."

All the warriors hissed, some calling for their Ikran's.
They separated, each going to the post they were given.

Neteyam looked behind him, the group fallowing him.

°^°^°^°^°^°^°

Neteyam sent the two warriors into trees, accompanied by his brother and mate. Plus Rotxo.
Kiri and Tsireya sat low to the ground behind the line of trees, extra cloth and herbs around them.
Tonowari and Ronal was to their right, bows in their hands.

Neteyam nodded, walking forward and throwing his knife into the head of a Avatar.
"Time for payback!"

The other Avatars and Sky-people around them soon noticed, grabbing their weapons and running towards them.
Many being shot by arrows, bullets, and stabbed with spears from above.

Neteyam smiled, walking forward to the dead Na'vi to retrieve his knife.
He spun it in his hand, groaning as a soldier pulled him by his braid.

He quickly turned around, stabbing the shorter man and kicking him away.
He exhaled loudly, smiling as Aonung shot an arrow into the man behind him. Protecting him.

Neteyam turned, soon being surrounded by sky-people, Efio at his back, holding up his knife and gun.
"I've killed a few sky-people before."

Neteyam smiled, showing his fangs. His eyes dilating as adrenaline flooded his veins.
"Then let's kill some more."

°^°^°^°^°^°^°

Neteyam panted as he wiped blood from his neck, slightly groaning as his finger grazed the open cut.
He looked around, seeing the Sky-people lying dead on the ground. But no Miles, and no Spider.

He looked up as a sound rang in his ears, seeing a red flare come from his left. A minute later one from his right.
The other two posts were taken care of.

Neteyam turned, seeing a bleeding, but alive soldier.
"Where is Miles?"

The soldier spat at Neteyam's feet, his hands holding the open wound on his stomach.

"Looking for me?"

Neteyam smirked, turning around to see Miles. Knife in hand, gun at his side.
"Wondering when you would show."

Miles laughed, shaking his head.
"Been watching. Observing you, you have skill I'll give ya that."

Neteyam scoffed, seeing his family start to move forward. Weapons raised.
But they knew better than to shoot, this was Neteyams kill. Not theirs.
"I don't want your praise, I want your life."

Miles stepped forward, spreading his arms.
"Try and t-"

"Stop! Please Stop!"

They both turned their heads, seeing Spider run to Miles. He stood in front of him, holding up his hands.
Neteyam groaned, frowning as the boys actions.
"What are you doing?"

Spider panted, sweat dripping off of him.
"You can't kill him Neteyam! Please!"

Neteyam tilted his head, slightly giving a sad smile.
"You have no idea what he has done, do you?"

Spider furrowed his eyebrows, looking between the group behind Miles and Neteyam.
Neteyam walked forward, knife still in hand.
"I was pregnant. Went to patrol, found you at the clearing. Miles threw a knife into my gut. His life, for my childs."

Spider looked down, his face changing from confusion, to anger, to shock, to sadness. But still, determination.
He looked back up, keeping his hands up.
"I'm sorry but- but he didn't know! How could he? Neteyam-"

Miles put a hand on Spiders shoulder.
"Kid, just stop. He's-"

"Angry."
Neteyam finished, his tail thrashing. Ears pinned back.
"Spider, I'm going to kill him."

Spider whimpered, his face having tears slip down.
"Please, he's my father."

Neteyam smiled, shaking his head and shrugging his shoulders.
"I do not care."

Miles, for once, looked worried. Scared even. But not of Neteyam, and not for himself.
"Spider. Please, just move. I don't want him to hurt you, kid."

Spider looked back to him, taking a deep breath as Neteyam was mere inches Infront of him.
He looked up, his eyes unwavering.
"No. Neteyam won't hurt me. Not me, not his brother."

Neteyam looked down, sighing.
"You're correct. I wouldn't hurt you. But you are no longer my brother."

Neteyam quickly grabbed Spider, throwing him a shirt distance away. He grabbed Miles, pulling them face to face.
"You deserve the hell you will go to."

He flipped his knife, waiting for Miles reply.
"I'll see you soon fr-"
He hissed, stabbing the knife from his chin, up into his mouth. Narrowing his eyes as Miles sputtered, blood spitting onto Neteyam, flooding his hands.
Spider screamed as he covered his scratched shoulder. Watching in horror as Neteyam pulled out of his knife, dropping the body.

He turned to Spider, using his fingers to wipe the blood from the knife.
He walked over to him, kneeling at eye level.
"Let me make something clear. You are only alive because I made a promise to my sister. You may stay in Pandora, not in the forest. You will live, unless you give me reason to reunite you with your precious daddy. Will you give me reason?"

Spider only shook his head, slowly standing up and walking over to Miles body.
He looked back to Neteyam, hatred and hurt in his eyes.
"You are a horrible brother."

Neteyam turned his head away, looking to his family.
"We are not brothers, Spider."

Spider scoffed, leaning down and grabbing Miles knife.
"You deserved what he did."

Neteyam froze. Red clouding his vision.
The others noticed, soon Kiri stepped forward, sobbing as Rotxo held her back.
"Spider, run!"

Neteyam turned, grabbing Spider by the hair and lifting him up.
"Do you wish to die?"

Spider said nothing, only pulled at Neteyam's wrist, tiptoeing to keep his feet on the ground.
Neteyam smiled coldly.
"You do. If you wish to, do it yourself. I'll gladly watch you drive a knife into your skin."

He dropped slider, picking up the knife and throwing it into his lap.
He turned, walking towards his siblings and family.
He looked to Kiri, a thankful expression crossing her face.
"I will not make him leave here. See him when you wish, little sister."

Aonung smiled, wrapping his arms around Neteyam.
"Looks like we got our revenge."

Neteyam hummed, keeping his body parts away from Aonung.
"We did."
