Dong Hua was sitting in court thinking about his Xiaobai while drinking tea. He was not really paying attention to what was happening and was ready to leave already so that's what he decided to do. He got up and just started walking away until Hao de asked "Dijun um… if you don't mind me asking why are you leaving?" Nobody has ever questioned him like that and Dong Hua slowly turned around and faced Hao de and said "Nobody has ever questioned me like that." At this point Hao de regretted speaking "Dijun I- uh I didn't mean to...well uh" He started to stutter but Dong Hua interrupted him "I want to go see my future empress because I really miss her… I will be leaving today." And he walked out.

     Zhong Li was walking around looking for Fengjiu. Last night Dong Hua told him about how she would be staying at the Palace. He told him how she should be treated and greeted no matter what and to let everyone else know. As he was walking he saw the Princess at the garden and she was under the oak tree playing with a red nine tailed fox smiling and looking very happy.

     "Zhong Li greets your imperial highness Bai Fengjiu of Qing Que" he bowed to her "Ah! Zhong Li?" She stood up and walked towards him, "You know… you don't need to be so formal." He looked up confused. When it came to Dong Hua's Foster Sister Zhihe would always make sure that she was addressed and treated correctly otherwise she would be mad and complain about it to Dong Hua or Zhong Li and they would just fire or ban the people from the Palace "So…how should I address your highness?" And she thought for a minute and said "Well you can just call me Xiaojiu or Fengjiu when Dijun is not around. But when he is… knowing and because of yesterday he most likely would want you to address me with my title so just go with that." And Zhong Li nodded 

     "Oh! Zhong Li, come play with me, you can be the monster!" She ran over to the tree and sat down waiting for him but he slowly walked towards her confused. "Well um I don't know how to play as the… monster?" Out of all the roles he could have gotten he got a monster "Yep! You can be the monster. Oh! But before we play, how is The Third Prince? Did Dijun give him his apology gift?" Zhong Li then took a seat in front of Fengjiu and thought he heard wrong so he asked "Apology gift?" She nodded "Yeah! Me and Dijun made him sweet and sour fish and he said he would apologize." And his face turned pale white and mouth wide open "You- You made the fish or- did Dijun make- make it?" He stuttered 

     But she giggled "No silly! Do you think I let him poison The Third Prince?it" She laughed "Well I don't remember hearing about this apology gift but I am sure Dijun gave it to The Third Prince. " Zhong Li knew that Dijun didn't give him the gift nor would he ever apologize but he didn't want to tell her "Now come let me show you how to play the monster!"

     After some time Zhong Li was playing a big scary beast while Fengjiu was the little nine tailed fox hero saving all the realms. Not too long after playing Dong Hua arrived and saw Zhong Li chasing Fengjiu and her using the Fox as a weapon and hitting him in the head. His Xiaobai looked happy and although he didn't like Zhong Li playing with her he decided to let it go this time. 

     Dong Hua walked over to them and cleared his throat to get their attention and they turned to him "Dijun? You're back from court already?" She walked over to him "It looks like you're having… Fun?" And she nodded with a smile on her face "Yep! Zhong Li is the monster! And the Fox you got me is the hero!" She explained "Oh and thank you for the Fox! I really like it." And he could not help my smile at her back and she gasped along with Zhong Li "Did you just… smile?" She whispered to him and his smile faded "I didn't smile…" He said while shaking his head "Oh…" She whispered and he let out a small chuckle "Xiaobai I see you put the bells on your fox?" She nodded "Yeah! I didn't know what to really do with them so I wrapped it around her foot!" She showed him the Fox 

     "Dijun, I have some business to take care of… I will be taking my leave now." Zhong Li bowed and left "Hey! Zhong Li but we are not done playing-" She was about to run after him but Dong Hua grabbed onto her hand and pulled her towards him and she bumped right on his hard rock chest "Xiaobai how about we drink some tea and eat? Then you can play." He held onto her tightly when he felt her trying to escape him "Why are you acting so strange?" She said annoyedly, "I don't remember you acting like this last time I lived here." 

     She gasped and took her hand out of his grip and covered her mouth "The… last time… you… lived here?" He asked "I mean uh… You know what, let's go eat. I am hungry!" She ran over to the pavilion and sat down. Dong Hua stood there confused "She lived here before? But we met about a few days ago… Hmmm... I will figure it out." And he slowly made his way to the pavilion and took a seat in front of her. 

     "What do you want to eat Xiaobai?" He questioned her and she thought for a bit "Uhm… Can I have Longevity Peach Steamed Buns and some Lotus Crisp?" She answered "Anything to drink?" He asked, "Jasmine tea please." And he nodded at her request. A few minutes later a servant came up holding a tray with the sweets and tea in it and placed it on the table "Thank you!" Fengjiu said to the servant and he bowed to both of them and left.

     "Wow! Look at the food Dijun! It looks so good!" She grabbed a lotus crisp and took a bite at it. Dong Hua was staring at her and the food "Xiaobai don't you think this is too much?" He asked and she looked at him confused. "Too much what?" She asked "Too much sweets? Shouldn't you eat something more healthy?" And she looked back down at the food and frowned. "Oh… it's just that I was craving something sweet and I-" He had noticed her frown and his heart ached so he said immediately "No, no, no eat whatever you like Xiaobai! I just don't want you to get sick, that's all." And she looked up at him with wide eyes 

     "You… don't want me… to get sick? Since when did you care about people?" Dong Hua didn't respond to her that very moment but just looked at her. After a few minutes of their staring contest he replied "Don't you remember what I said last night?" The memory of him telling her that she was the only exception and how she fell asleep in his arms flooded back to her like a waterfall and she felt embarrassed "Oh… hehe about last night… Uhm sorry for my behavior I will try and fix my behavior. Forgive me." She apologized while looking at her tea "Xiaobai don't be sorry… and remembered you are the only exception."

     After some time they had finished their food and tea and were walking around the Palace. Dong Hua had told her that the bells were actually supposed to be wrapped around her ankle, so she tied it around her ankle and every time she walked the bells would jingle. He liked to hear it jingle and she did too! But Dong Hua didn't tell her that every time she ran the bell with a bit of magic it would alarm him to let him know she was in danger and that he could locate her as well.

     A few days passed and everything was going great! Dong Hua and Fengjiu got along well and he treated her with kindness and respect. He would skip court just to spend time with her and rumors started going around Heaven. Many servants talked about how much Dong Hua liked his future empress. The way he looked at her and sometimes they caught him smiling at her which many people were shocked to hear. Pretty much the whole world knew about their relationship!

     One day Fengjiu was sitting in her vanity brushing out her hair and thinking about all the time she spent with Dong Hua. He would eat with her and read with her. He did everything with her and never wanted to leave her side and she felt that too! But she felt sad that he had left for an important meeting earlier and wouldn't be back till the afternoon. But then she remembered something "Siming said we are not fated in anyway? So this means we can't be together? But I can't say no to marrying him now can I? But I also don't wanna leave him. Dijun has been nothing but kind and it's kinda strange… What if we get married and something bad happens…" She said,  "I HAVE TO AVOID HIM!" She said and stood up from her seat and walked away.
