Dabi watched Hawks exchange with the little girl, slightly bored. Yay, hero saves child!

What's new? It's not like Hawks really cared about the child. It was his job. He was paid. Yay hero gets some more money!

The child was just his source of income. Congrats kid.

"...give this to my friend, but I'll just make her a new one. You can have it! Please wear it!" The kid said, pushing something into Hawks' hand. From Dabi's angle it looked like a friendship bracelet.

"Wh-what is it?" Hawks asked, sounding as though he truly didn't know. Is he stupid or something? Dabi thought. That's gonna make her feel great.

"It's a friendship bracelet, silly!" the girl said happily. Her eyes filled with tears suddenly. "Does it not look like one?"

"Oh. No, it does! I've just never gotten one before..." Hawks trailed off. Dabi raised an eyebrow at the comment. How could he have not gotten a friendship bracelet? Did he never go to camp or something? Granted Dabi hadn't really gone either but at school his friends would occasionally make him one.

The kid stopped crying quickly. "Then you have to wear it!" she reminded Dabi of Toga a little. Only difference is Toga probably didn't know what a friendship bracelet was. Maybe I'll make her one. Dabi thought absentmindedly. Only if he had nothing better to do.

"What if I made you one and sent it back?" Hawks asked. I thought you hadn't ever gotten one? This could be very amusing.

Dabi slunk back into the shadows slightly, watching as the girl asked her mom something and turned back to Hawks.

A couple minutes later Hawks flew off, Dabi slinking away to follow him from the shadows and in the distance. The hero flew off a ways away- it seemed he was doing patrols.

Suddenly the hero disappeared from Dabi's line of sight. Shit. Dabi thought. It was surprisingly difficult to find Hawks- granted, Dabi know knew where he lived, but he didn't particularly wish to have to go all the way over there. Dabi walked around aimlessly, hoping to hear someone's shout at seeing their favorite pro hero or to see the bright red wings.

Dabi felt a rush of wind then, gladly soaking up the wind as it had been a very hot day.

"Why are you following me?" Hawks' voice demanded from behind Dabi.

The villain twisted around, hiding his surprise at the hero. I was looking for him , but it seems he found me. Dabi should have known he wasn't lucky enough to get wind on a hot day.

"Why are you following me?" Hawks repeated.

"Making sure you don't betray us, birdie." Dabi said simply, shrugging.

"I don't even know anything!" Hawks objected.

Dabi ignored the comment. "We don't trust you much."

Hawks sighed. "Fine. I guess that's fair."

Dabi eyed the hero wearily, noticing the soft fluttering of his wings, most likely indicating nervousness- one of the only possible signs that the hero was nervous.

"Take a picture, it lasts longer." Hawks grinned.

Dabi rolled his eyes. "I'd rather not boost your ego anymore."

"So you do want a photo?"

Dabi rolled his eyes once more, otherwise ignoring the comment.

"So hero, how's your friend doing?" Dabi asked, thinking back to Mirko. He didn't actually care that much but he didn't want to fall into an awkward silence.

"She's... fine." Hawks answered hesitantly. "Why?"

Dabi shrugged. "Curiosity."

"Right..." Hawks looked as though he wanted to say something more but didn't want to be murdered. Funny, he hadn't worried about that a second ago when he asked if Dabi wanted a picture.

"Why are you in this part of town anyways? Aren't your patrols in that direction?" Dabi gestured behind him.

Hawks nodded. "I took over for Mirko. She's not really able to come in right now, as you will know."

Dabi chuckled. "Yes, I suppose not."
