NEXT DAY

I sat at island as my dad made breakfast. I scrolled through my phone as I sipped my coffee. "You're gonna hate me more than you already do." He says with his back facing me. I squinted my eyes as I looked up from my phone. "I never said I hated you, I have no idea where you got that from." I scoffed as I brought my knees up to me. "You have to go to school"He sighs and my heart dropped. "Huh?" I say looking at him with wide eyes. "You're seventeen for crying outloud you're almost done." He says smacking his lips. "I haven't been to school since the eight grade." I scoffed. "So when I left, you stopped going to school?" He says shaking his head. I thought about it for a second and nodded. "Yeah pretty much." I say nodding. "Is that when you started smoking weed?" He asked. "No, I started smoking weed at eleven at the brink of yall going through a divorce." I say. "And the truth comes out after five years." He laughs. I shrugged because you're not gonna make me stop. "Always been an open book D. Just gotta know the right times to ask about it." I say getting up.  "I told Mrs. Bennett and Mr. Burke that you'd be by in a few." He says. "Who should I go to first?" I asked him. "Mrs. Bennett" He says. I gave him a thumbs up and grabbed the keys. "And no smoking in my car!" He yells behind me. "No smoking in my car." I say mimicking him as I walked out the house.

I typed in the address and it's not even a ten minute drive...I typed in the other address and it was like the distance from the house but the opposite way. This is really a small town. I headed to Mrs. Bennett's house. As I was coming down the street I saw Nate coming down the street. He winked and waved as he drove past. Something about him give's me creep vibes. Shortly after I arrived at the Bennet's.

I knocked on the door and the girl from the liquor store opened the door. "Hey I kinda know you." She nods and points at me. My girl was high as hell. I furrowed my eyebrows. "I'm looking for Mrs. Bennet, is she home?" I say  scratching my head. "Yeah she's here one second. MOM!" She yells as she walks into her house. A middle aged lady came to the door moments after."Hi, you must be Cheyenne, im Leslie" She greets me with a hug. "Hi, I am." I say walking in. "I'm sorry to hear about Spencyr, I'd don't know what id do if I lost Rue or Gia."She says shaking her head. "Yeah, it's tough." I say sitting on the couch. "Let me go get Gia, one second."She says. "Also this my oldest, Rue." She turns back around and introduces us to each other. I looked at her and she was on cloud 9. "I know you're sister." Rue says. "You do?" I say side-eyeing her. "Yeah, her and Gia are like this?" She says locking her fingers together. "Oh for real?" I asked nodding. "Every weekend I always say my second little sister is coming over." She laughs which made me smile she had an older person looking out for her. "Thanks for looking out for her." I say nodding. She nodded and pointed at me.

Gia came out of her room and she looked like she'd been crying. I got up and to hug her and she broke down in my arms. "It's okay love." I say pouting and rubbing her back. "We we're at the game and she said she had to go to the bathroom, and I asked if she wanted me to come and said it's fine but I know I should've went with her. Im so sorry Cheyenne." She cries. I wiped her face and shook my head. "It's not your fault Gia." I say shaking my head. "I thought she went back home until I didn't hear or see her at school." She says. I put my lips together and hugged her. "What did she have on G?" I asked her. She pulled me to her room. "Her overnight bag is still here. We both were matching at the game because the theme was characters . With both had on white shorts and neon pink and green shirts to be like cosmo and Wanda." She says. "She was Cosmo." She says. So Spence has on white shorts and a green shirt. "You did amazing Gia. I love you." I say hugging her. "Can I help you guys find her?" She asked me. I looked at her mom. Her mom was uneasy. "Maybe later, but not right now." I say looking back at her. "Will you keep me updated?" She asked. I nodded and pulled out my phone. "Put your number in and I'll send you a text." I say. "Everyday." She says looking up at me. "Gia..." Leslie says. "Mom im serious." She says handing me back my phone. "I will." I say putting my phone back in my pocket. "I'll walk you out." Rue says. "Thank you Mrs. Bennett."I say smiling at her. "Honey call me Leslie, and you're welcomed anytime just like Spencyr." She says hugging me. "I appreciate it." I say waving at Gia and walking out.

"You got any weed on you?" Rue asked me. I stopped in my tracks and looked at her. I laughed it off. "Huh?" I asked. "Come on, I saw you buying blunts at Fez' store" She says leaning on the car. "Okay? They weren't for me." I say opening the car door. She closed the door. "I know where you can get pretty good fucking weed." She says leaning closer to me. Now im interested. "Where?" I asked. "Ohh now you wanna talk" She says grinning at me. "Hold on let me tell my mom im going with you. You going anywhere else after here?" She asked. "To Mr. Burke's that's it." I say shrugging. "Add one more stop." She points as she runs back into the house. How the fuck did I get Rue to come with me?

I didn't stay at Mr. Burkes for too long because his daughter Arianna didn't want to talk about it. Rue took me back to the liquor store. "Come on, Fez will be pretty stoked you're back." She says getting out the car. I got out the car, locked it and followed her. "Fez...!" She called out. He came from the back. "Whats up R.B. and Nameless." Fez says looking at me. "It's Cheyenne" Rue says. I glared at her because I don't like people knowing my name right away. "Cheyenne huh?" He says looking at me while licking the inner part of his mouth. "That's my name don't wear it out" I say giving him a soft smile. "Wassup Rue whatchu want?" He asked her. "Takin her to see Ash." She says walking to the freezer. "H-He's not here right now. Rue!" He stutters. She stopped and walked behind the counter. "Ash since you're not here imma take a couple blunts, liquor and a bag of ice for later!" She yells while grabbing stuff around the store. I heard shuffling coming from the freezer and a little boy came out. "Rue put that shit down you broke bitch." Ash says out of breath. "Not here huh?" Rue says looking at Fez. "We aint got shit but a little bit of weed." Fez says. Rue looked at me. "How much you got left?" I asked him. "You can have the rest for two hundred?" Ash says. "Is it over a zip?" I asked him. He shook his head No. "Then what hell I look like paying two hundred for?"I asked him turning my head. "Good fucking weed." He says. "People in New York don't even sell it for that much, bye" I say walking away. "One fifty?" Fez chimes in. Ash smacked his lips and mumbled something. "One twenty and we good." I say turning around and smirking at him. "Deal." He says walking into the freezer.  I smiled at Ash and followed Fez in.

"You gone need a few more blunts." He says bagging up my weed. "Indeed I do." I laughed. "I gotchu onnit" He says. "Appreciate it" I say as I gave him a blue strip and a twenty. He checked out the 100 to see if its real. "We don't fake over here baby." I say leaning on the chair. "Just making sure." He says putting it in his pocket. I squinted my eyes and nodded at him. "Mhmm." I say slowly picking up the bag of weed before walking out. "You straight forward. I fucks with that." He says behind me. "Gotta be in this world. Or people will take whatchu say the wrong way." I say turning around to look at him. "Facts. You got any plans tomorrow?" He asked me. "Look for my sister that's about it." I say shrugging. "Wait little Spencyr is you sister?" He says surprised. "Now that I look at you, yeah I see it."He says nodding. I laughed. "You know her?" I asked him. "Yeah, she comes in all the time with Gia before and after school" He says. "Did they come in Friday night after the game?" I asked him. He shook his head No. "Nah, they came in before the game  looking like cosmo and Wanda" He says. "It was character night at the game." I tell him. "If you need anything call me." He says putting his number on a sticky note and slapping it on the bag. "Thanks, will do." I say looking at the note.

We walked out and I "accidentally" bumped into Ash. "My fault lil dawg"I snickered as I walked past him. "You ready?" Rue asked while sitting on the counter. I nodded. "What can we take Fez?" Rue asked. "Whatever, just take enough for today." He says. Rue smirked at me. "Whatcha want?" She asked me. "Two tropical fusion swishers" I tell her. She put them on the counter. "Alright Fez, we'll see you later." Rue says walking out. "Alright!" He says.

We got in the car and I opened the pack of blunts. "You know where we can smoke at?" I asked her. "Here or at the park." She says shrugging. I unraveled the blunts and took the tobacco out. "Do you do anything other than Weed?" She asked me. "Nah, you?" I asked breaking up the weed. "Coke, opioids an a lil bit of weed." She says. I raised my eyebrows and nodded. "Pop yo shit twin." I say licking the blunt. "Would you ever do anything else?" She asked me. "I dunno, never say never" I say rolling up. I could see her grinning from the corner of my eye. She's crazy, I love her.
