CHEYENNE

WEDNESDAY 10:30 a.m.

It's been a little over a day since we've been home and Spencyr hasn't slept in her own bed or stayed in her room. She's been wearing my clothes and been in my room. I love her but babes go get in your own bed. "Pence?" I asked not facing her. "Hmm?" She says softly. "You wanna try school today?" I asked her. She didn't say anything. And im gonna take that as a No. I got up and rolled myself a blunt for my little walk to the store. "Where are you smoking that?" Spencyr asked still half asleep. "On the way to the store..." I mumbled. "I'm going." She says. Girl, dad is gone make us go to school. I don't wanna go to that place. "He's gonna make us go to school I hope you know that?" I say putting on Fez' hoodie. "I'll just say I'm getting a breath of fresh air or something." She says getting up. "Oh I'm taking the car." I say putting on a pair of crocs. "Even better didn't wanna walk anyways." She says following me out my room. 

"The Dead has risen, morning girls." My dad says in the kitchen with his boyfriend Cal. "Oh my god! I get to meet the famous fabulous Cal!" I say sarcastically while looking at Cal. "Morning Chey" Cal laughs. "Welcome home babygirl!" Cal says getting up and hugging Spencyr. "I'm homeeee" She says hugging her. "What do you want the car?" My dad asked me. I grinned and nodded. "Just to go get something to eat, you want something?" I ask. "Be back in an hour, I gotta be at work at twelve." He says handing over the keys. Big fat dummy. "Alright will do, nice to finally meet you Cal. Sissy lets roll" I say walking out. "And drive like a normal person!" He yells behind me. I give him a thumbs up and ran out the house. "Are we actually going to get food?" She asks. "If you're about to smoke this... You're gonna wanna eat." I say. She nodded. 

I started the truck and headed to the store. "So are you and Fez like a thing now?" Spencyr asked me. Umm. "I don't know, sorta kinda. I like him." I say shrugging. She smiled. "He's very laid back, more of your type." She says nodding. "Right?" I say pulling up to the store. I saw Fez' head pop out the store. "What the fuck is up kid!?" Fez' says as I jumped out the trunk. Spencyr jumped out after. "Little Kid!" He cheers. "Fezzy Wez" Spencyr says excitedly hugging him. "Where the fuck have you been had your big sis worried." Fez says looking at me. I smiled and looked away. "Story for another time... I'm thirsty" she says hitting his chest and walking into the store. Fez looked at me and I looked back at him. "Hey..." I laughed. "We just gone stand here like pedestrians or what...?" He asked me. I laughed and tackled him with a hug. "How was the drive?" He asked me. "I had to drive back, that was a struggle." I sighed. "How is she doing?" He asked me. "Hasn't slept in her room, or stayed in her room for no more than fifteen minutes." I say leaning on the back of the truck. "Get in the store..." Fez says grabbing my hand and pulling me into the store. I looked behind me and I didn't see anyone coming or any cars drive by. 

"You good?" I asked him. "Yeah? Why?" He asked me like he didn't just drag me into the store. "Um, what did you see outside that made you run in here?" I asked laughing confused. "Oh...No it-it's nothing." He says. I furrowed my eyebrows. "Mhm..." I say nodding. "What's on your agenda today little kid?" Fez asked Spencyr. "Um, hang with Cheyenne." She says shrugging. Fez looked at me. I nodded and shrugged because I have nothing to do, im supposed to be at school. "What about you?" He asked hitting my shoulder. "Not a damn thing." I say shaking my head. "What about tonight?" He asked me. I blushed and looked at my feet. "Nothing, you tryna come over?" I asked while grinning. "If that's cool with Spence?" He says looking at her. She looked uneasy. "Can I hang with yall for a while?" She asked him. "Fasho!"He says with a smile on his face. She gave him a thumbs up. Why would he say yes? I want her to sleep in her own room.

"You wanna smoke before we head back to the house?" I asked him. "Yup!" He says opening the freezer door. "Hey short stack." I say smiling at Ash. He smacked his lips and continued doing business with someone else. Spencyr and I shared a beanbag chair and I sparked the blunt. "What time is it?" I asked her. "Eleven twenty" She says looking at her phone. I nodded, we have enough time to get something to eat and not smell as loud. "Yo what the fuck are you doing here?" Ash says as his customer left. "I missed you duh?" I say hitting the blunt. "How do you live  with her? Also welcome home." Ash says sounding so nice when talking to her. Why he so hostile with me? Rude. "She's actually a pretty warm person once you get to know her Ash." Spencyr says putting her head on my shoulder. Ash rolled his eyes and shook his head. "You'll learn to love me" I say passing the blunt to Fez. "Fezco did." Ash mumbles. I choked and started coughing up a lung after what Ash just said. "Here." Spencyr says handing me her drink. "Thank you." I say taking a big ass swig from her drink. "You good?" Fez asks while relighting the blunt. "Totally." I say clearing my throat. Ash was silently cracking up because he caught me so off guard. 

As we finished up smoking with Fez there was an old Ford Fusion driving slowly down the road. "Drive safe." Fez says hugging me. "Just going around the block to Charley's and then back home." I say shrugging. "Still..." He says. "Okay... Will do." I laughed while slowly letting go of his hand as I walked to the car. He always managed to smell... fucking good. I got in the car and Spencyr was smiling at me. "If you don't kiss him by the end of tonight im gonna kill you." She says shaking her head. My jaw dropped. "Whattt..." I say starting the car. We're not actually going to Charley's we're going to pick up Rue from school and THEN going to Charley's. "You guys like-like each other, 'drive safe, I will'  like come on" She laughs. I rolled my eyes and chuckled because it's not a fast moving relationship but it's also not a slow one. We just right in the middle. 

"You...You missed the turn to Charley's?" Spencyr asks looking back. "Mhm, and?" I say turning down the street to the school. "Bro..." She says smacking her lips. "We're not staying don't worry." I say pulling around to the back. A relief wiped over her that she didn't have to stay. I texted Rue but she was already bookin' it out the doors. "Pencyr!" Rue says opening the front door and hugging her as she got in... the front seat as well with Spencyr. And I see everyone has a nickname for her and not just me, I love it. "Is that why you've been on an hiatus for four fucking days!" Rue says hitting me. "I'm sorry, I got the call and I had to go." I say driving off to Charley's. "Dad's calling." Spencyr says looking at me. Rue jumped in the back on the floor. I laughed and pulled into Charley's parking lot. "What do you want pop's?" I say as she answered. "Can you bring me something back and hurry." He says. I looked ay the time it was Eleven forty five. "Oh fuck, yeah, we're on our way text me." I say pulling up to Charley's "alright see you in a minute." He says hanging up. "How pissed is he gonna be when he see's me with yall?" Rue says sitting up. "He'll most likely be running out the house, you're good, you and Chey are the same height just hide behind her." Spencyr says shrugging. "Alright." Rue says laying out on the back seat.

4:30 P.M.

Rue, Spencyr, Vision and I were standing outside of Spence's room. "I have to open it?" Spencyr asked me. "It's your room." I scoffed. "Yeah, I mean what's so bad about it? I know your dad cleaned it." Rue says shrugging.  Spence just stood there. "Vis wouldn't let anything happen to you. He can sleep in your room" I say rubbing him. She looked down at him. "Come on boy." She says opening the door and Vis ran in. Her room looks... fine? It had her  clean laundry in the basket, her bed un made, and pictures of her and her friends on the wall. "Everything looks fine in her Pence." I say walking around her room. "I-I-I guess so?" She says sitting on her bed. "You think you can chill in here for a minute?" I asked her. "You're leaving?" She asked. "To my room yeah..." I say. "Why don't we chill in here for a minute?"Rue suggests while looking at me. "Oh okay." I say grabbing her tv remote. "What should we put on?" I asked her. "In the mood to watch cartoons." Rue says. "Spongebob is it." I say turning it on. 

I don't mind staying in her room it just I like to be alone sometimes that's why I didn't inform Rue where I've been. Or why I haven't told Fez I have been home since Monday night. I enjoy having new friends that always wanna be around all the time but I just like to have some alone time.. or even days. My phone vibrated and it was Maddy.

Maddy Perez💅🏼: hey, I haven't see you since the movies just checkin on you... everything good?

me: yea just an family emergency. thank you for checking on me I appreciate it ❤️

Maddy Perez💅🏼: of course girly, I hope everything is okay I miss ya girl❤️

me: thank you and i miss you too I should be back tomorrow or friday forsure

I locked my phone and I looked over at Spence. She kept looking at her picture wall. "Yo Chey I have game you might wanna play..."She says getting up. Rue and I gave each other confused faces. "O...Kay?" I say sitting up. "I'm gonna describe a place and you tell me if we took a picture or not." She says standing at her wall. O..kay? "Bring it sister." I say stretching. "Blue wall..." She starts. "Uncle Jessies house, Easter Sunday. Next" I say. "How the hell did you get that from a Blue wall?" Rue says confused. Spencyr took the picture off the wall and handed it to her. "Okay, black and white, very tall woman and a hula hoop." She rambles off. "Family reunion." I say. She took that picture down. "Cherries, Black dress and umbrellas" She says. "Grandma Cheryl took us to the Cherry Farm in Canada." I say. "Yo you've been to Canada?" Rue asked. "My moms Canadian and I visit a few times a year." I say shrugging. "That's dope." She says looking at the picture Spencyr handed her. 

This went on until there was like no more picture on the wall. "Alright two more." She says. I shrugged "We we're at a park, there's palm trees, we stood in front of a fence  and I wore pink and black checkered long socks and a pink dress. You wore basketball shorts and a tank top... Where were we?" she asked me. That sounds so familiar. Palm trees somewhere hot and not in New York. Park with a fence sounds like an amusement park. "The first time we all went to Disney world and Cyrus was just a baby." I say. "Who's Cyrus?" Rue asked. Spencyr turned around with no picture in her hand. "Where's the picture?" I asked her. "I don't have it." She says shaking her head. I furrowed my eyebrows. "What are you talking about?" I asked confused. "Someone has been in my room." She says. I heard the door knob jingle. "I'm home... why does it look like you guys just seen a ghost?" My dad smile fades. "Um... what are you talking about?" I say shaking my head trying to process what Spencyr just said to me. "You look uneasy. What's wrong?" He asked me. "Nothing. Nothings wrong. " I laugh nervously. "Hey Mr. Calloway." Rue waves. "Hey honey, you staying for dinner?" He asked her. "Unfortunately no, gotta head home right about now." Rue says. "Keep me updated." Rue whispers to me. "Alright, get home safe." He tells her. "Always do!" She says from the hallway. "Dinner will be ready in an hour." He says. "Okay" We both say before closing the door.

I whipped my head back to Spencyr. "If you don't spill everything to me before dad makes his little police friends interrogate it out of you." I say looking at her. "It's a blur Cheyenne! I don't remember everything. One minute I think I know what happened next minute I it's choppy" She tells me. "Well what do you remember right fucking now?" I asked her. "Red Van." She says.My face dropped. "A red fucking van?" I say. "No a blue van. Yes a red van! I don't know!" She says frustrated. I rubbed my face. "I'm gonna have a stroke between you and dad. You don't know who was around, who you we're with, who taken you? Nothing?" I asked her. She shook her head. "I'm sorry I don't" She says. I took a deep breath. "You better get some memory back soon or Dad and the school is gonna start asking questions." I say opening the door and my Dad was standing outside. My heart sank to my ass. "You heard all of that..." I say slowly covering my mouth. He nodded with eye closed. I turned back an looked at Spencyr. "Oh..." I say looking back at my Dad. "I'm...I'm gonna just go and start dinner." He says getting up off the wall and walking downstairs. "He shouldn't be such a Nosey Nick his time was gonna come." She says picking up all of the pictures. "I...I don't know. He looked like his brain was turning. He's tryna put the pieces together." I say running my fingers through my hair. "Did he ever bring up the argument earlier in the week?" She asked me. "Briefly, why?" I asked her. "Because we we're in public when it happened." She says. "And what did you say?" I asked her. "I don't know-" "If you say I don't know one more goddamn time im gonna choke you!" I yelled. "I'm sorry! I'm trying to tell you what I can remember now" She whines while putting her head in her hands. I sighed and opened her desk drawer. "Here, write down anything you can remember I'm gonna go shower" I say throwing a notebook and a marker on her desk and walking out.

9:45 P.M.

"So she's sleep?" My dad asked me as I sat on the island. "I said Shower not sleep, I don't think she's been getting a lot of that either." I say. "What else did she tell you?" He asked me. I shook my head. "Nothing much, everything comes and go. I told her to write everything down then give it to me in the morning." I say. He sat silently spinning his glass. I snapped my fingers at him. "Come on I can't be the only stable person in this house right now Darell stay with me." I say waving and snapping at him. "I'm sorry, when Spencyr said Red Van I've seen a van a couple of times on my way to work." He says. "Do you remember it when you guys we're arguing?" I asked him while picking at my nails. He had a confused look on his face. " I don't remember the parking lot of a Walmart Cheyenne." He says. "Well she thinks it started from there so I dunno" I say shrugging. "Why would she think that?" He asks. I say Fez coming through the back yard. "I'm the wrong daughter to be asking. Ask her tomorrow" I say sliding off the island. "You headed to bed?" He asked me. "Indeed I am." I say nodding. "Alright, are you going to school tomorrow?" He asked me. "Maybe?" I say more a question. "When are you gonna force her to go back?" I asked him. "If she doesn't go Friday, pushing her out next Wednesday" He says.I nodded. "Good luck Pops. Goodnight." I say heading to the basement. "Goodnight Babe love you." He says getting up. "Love you too" I say walking downstairs. 

I ran to the sliding door and Fez was standing there. "Hi!"I smiled while engulfing him in a hug. "Wassup kid!" He says picking me up. "I think Spence is warming up to her room" I say. "Gang shit." He laughs while closing the door. "So it's just us?" He asked me. "Just us." I laughed. He picked me up and ran to my room. He threw me on me bed. "So since your Pop's is home and you can't smoke. I brought wax so we can take dabs." He says taking off his backpack. "Oh you're so sweet thank god." I cry out into his chest. He laughed and took everything out. 

"I want be real with you..." I say sitting up. "Wassup?" He asks while looking at me. Oh fuck why am I so nervous now. "Uh... Okay now it's weird" I laughed nervously. "What's gotta be weird about it?" He asked putting all his dab tools down. "I... like you Fezco..." I say looking away from him. "Well there's nothing weird there. I like you too Chey." He says. I grinned to myself. Yes, yes, YES! "You do?" I laughed. "I wouldn't be sneaking into just anyone's house if I didn't like her. Or give weed away to just anyone." He says smiling. I laughed. "It's always a pleasure doing business with you Fezco." I laughed. "You're probably the only one who calls me that." He laughs. "Everyone calls you Fez?" I say covering my mouth. He laughed. "Pretty much." He says getting on the bed fully. "But I like when you call me that." He says looking at me. He was inches from face. I could smell that signature cologne he's always wearing. Spencyr told me I gotta kiss him tonight, and I don't wanna disappoint my sister do I? "You wanna... take a dab?" He asked holding up the torch while looking at my lips. I just went for it and kissed him. He held onto the side of my face and kissed me back. His lips were so soft and smooth I didn't wanna break the kiss. As our lips disconnected, our foreheads were connected and we just stared into each others eyes. The feeling I feel with him and not being high... Is probably one of the best feelings ever.
