Chapter 39

"Hi excuse me miss, I was wondering if you can help me find the cute brunette who works here, I would really love to get her number... and maybe take her out on a date after she gets off her shift?" I hear from behind me.

I tried to think of a responds when I heard laughing coming from the man behind me, turning around to find the culprit causing me to send a playful glare his way which makes him crack up even more. I continue to stand there with an amused expression on my face as I watch him laugh his ass off and trying to catch his breath at the same time.

What a dork I swear.

"Ha ha very funny Evans," I mock, slowly standing up to walk over to him, but also trying not to make it noticeable where he starts asking questions and I know he will loose his cool if I tell him what happened, especially since I know he's still upset with what happened last week with Justin.

"Alright... alright I'm done, can I have my hug now?" he questions, giving me damn puppy dog eyes as he holds his arms open.

I roll my eyes at his dramatics but couldn't fight off the smile that made its way on my lips as I walk the shuffle over to him, wrapping my arms around his waist. I let out a sigh of comfort, snuggling more into his arms as I feel him tighten his hold around my shoulder, I also try not to wince when his hold gets tighter and I feel the sore parts of my injured body reacting to the feeling of his arms pressing onto my wounds.

"So what are you doing here?" I question as I walk away to continue my work when he releases his hold.

"Can I not come and visit my beautiful girl at her work?" he teases.

"You know what I mean yah dork," I roll my eyes playfully at his dramatic self, looking through the vinyl records to make sure they are organized and in their rightful places.

"I know... but I was being serious about what I said earlier about that date," he shoots me a wink as he leans against the table.

Damn him and his incredibly good looks.

"Is that so?" Then what time should I be ready?" I ask, giving him a warm smile.

At my response his face lights up and returns the action with that dazzling smile he always gives.

"How 'bout I pick you up around seven?" he offers.

"Yeah, sounds good with me." I nod my head, as I walk over to the book shelves.

I can honestly say it's absolutely adorable with the way he's been following me around like a lost puppy but I also have to be careful because if he sees me move the wrong way then I know he will be on me in a second, questioning me till I eventually spill.

"Hey there kiddo, how's it going?" Rossi popped around shelf I was working on.

"Hey Rossi, its going pretty good, how about you?" and it was true, now that I'm at work and Chris is here the day feels like it got ten times better.

"Doing pretty good here kiddo..." he pauses, looking up at Chris who was back at the vinyls browsing away, "- is that fellow bothering you? I can have him out of your hair if you want?" he whispers, like he was telling me one of the biggest secrets in life.

I start laughing at his question, shaking my head a bit to give him a partial answer as I try to regain my laughter under control,

"No... no Rossi it's all good, I know that poor fellow so he's not a problem," I assure him, turning around and waving Chris over after I realized I already had his attention from my outburst a moment ago.

He hums and watches as Chris makes his way over looking kind of uneasy from the way Rossi is watching his every move as if he was going to attack us at any moment.

"Rossi, this is Chris... my um friend," I introduce to him, my answer sounding more like a question. "Chris this is my boss-" "- whose a great man and like a second dad to me." I continue as he shoots me a look as if I didn't say enough about him.

"It's good to meet you sir," Chris addresses him, shaking Rossi's hand.

"Mhmm, nice to meet you too" Rossi responds, acting as if he didn't like Chris but I can tell he does by the little smile he's trying to fight off.

I can't decide what's more funny, that Rossi is trying to act mean and scary with him not barely reaching Chris shoulders or that Rossi is more protective over the situation than my dad was... which sounds kind of bad on my dad's part, but I swear he's a great dad he just wasn't so overprotective as he maybe should have been? Plus I know Rossi is just putting up an act to try and intimidate Chris...key word, try

"So just friends... eh?" the older man questions teasingly as he motions his hand between us.

I don't blame him if he didn't exactly believe that we were just 'friends' which I don't blame him with the way we look at each other plus if he saw our interaction from earlier then it does kind of sound wrong by calling each other friends but to be fair, I am still seventeen and I don't want him to think poorly of Chris as you can tell he's a bit older than me.

Especially since I have a major case of baby face.

I just walk away from the men as I playfully roll my eyes at Rossi's teasing as I know that he won't let that go for a while and if I just continue to stand there he will just continue teasing me about it.

"Andrea! Your 'hot' date is here!" I hear Joey yell from the living room, of course he would embarrass me today, well he tries to any day really.

I finish putting on my shoes and earrings, quickly making sure I have everything I need in my cross body bag and grab my phone as I walk out of my room and towards the living room where I find everyone sitting on the couches waiting for me to come out of my room.

"Sorry, sorry I didn't realize it was already seven and I just putting on my shoes and earrings and making sure I had everything I needed-" I look at everyone when I enter the living room to see them looking at me in different types of emotions, my mom looking at me like I just told her I got her tickets to see the Backstreet boys, my dad looks like someone just told him they got him an autograph from the Raiders coach, Joey and Chris looks like I just told them I broke their games, then there's Chris who is looking at me like... well I can't really describe it, but the way he is looking at me makes me feel like I can do anything, like I'm the only girl in the whole world, like it's only the two of us in the room, hell the whole universe and that...is an amazing feeling.

"What?" I question.
