Chapter 25

Four days later...

Chris had to finish filming for Defending Jacob, Scott came over a while later around eight-fifteen and offered to give me a tour around Sudbury.

Which is how I ended up here with Scott and Dodger, walking to a small café just called couple blocks away from the house called Ellie's Café that Scott claimed was the best coffee shop in town to get a warm drink, which was perfect right now as it was a bit chilly this morning and I decided to wait outside with Dodger after telling Scott my order.

"Here yah go, one grande lemon chamomile tea and chocolate chunk muffin for the beautiful lady and one grande cinnamon latte and banana muffin for moi, " Scott declares, setting our beverages and snacks down on the table we decided to relax at.

"Why thank you, kind sir," I joke, causing us to start laughing at our exchange.

After taking the drink from Scott I start looking around at our surroundings, the town was so lively even if it was still early, people are shuffling along the sidewalk trying to get from point a to point b or just taking a stroll around the shops either with friends or alone just trying to relax before the day begins and get some fresh air.

The atmosphere felt so peaceful just sitting here making it feel as though I didn't even leave home, the only difference is the weather, the lifestyle, and communication is the only difference between here and home. I continue staring at my surroundings where the streets start to come more alive as people are pilling out of their homes to start their day, checking my phone I realize I have been sitting here staring out in space quietly-with Scott munching peacefully on the rest of his muffin and Dodger calmly sitting by my feet like the good boy he is- for about an hour and a half making it almost ten o'clock, getting up and throwing away my cup and wrapper I untie Dodger's leash while pushing in my chair as I wait by the table for Scott to return from throwing away his trash.

We agree to begin walking towards the park to let the pup run around for a bit which isn't very far as Scott told me as he started to lead the way and about two blocks down from the café we arrive at a large field that holds a small pond and benches surrounding it, masses of trees sprouted every way with a trail that surrounds the entire land that already holds joggers, bicyclists, and the occasional dog walkers.

I couldn't help but be in awe with the scenery as I'm not really used to places like this where I'm from as it's more of a small community where some parks have a fence around to keep unwanted visitors at night or occupied by a children playground- even though there is one at this park- there is still plenty of space to walk around or do other fun activities.

After looking for a while, we found a good spot to rest and be able to spot Dodger from the bench we occupied, I took off his leash and allowed him to roam the empty field in front of us.

"So how do yah like it here so far?" Scott turns to me.

"I really love it here it's so peaceful and relaxing, the weather isn't as bad as I assumed it would be actually the mood of the grey clouds and breeze makes it actually feel comfortable with the flowers blooming here and makes it really beautiful. The atmosphere feels really homey." I gush, looking towards Scott to see his smile bigger than earlier with a pleased look upon his features.

"Well I'm really glad you like it here and feel comfortable and at home, I know how much Chris was ecstatic to show you around and how anxious he was to bringing you here and knowing how you feel about being here, but I think he has nothing to worry about as you expressed how much you enjoy staying here." He confessed. "I just hope this means you will visit more in the future." Giving him a warm smile.

I couldn't help but reciprocate the action and assure him that I would love to come back to visit and get to spend more time here with him and the rest of the Evans clan, who have been nothing but welcoming with open arms towards me along with Chris and I's relationship.

I feel something fall into my lap to see Dodger standing in front of me patiently wagging his tail and a small, neon green tennis ball sitting on my lap that is just waiting to be thrown.

I got up, deciding to play fetch with the pup and walk a couple of feet from the bench with Dodger in tow and launch the ball the in the air in front of us, laughing as I see him running full force after the green blob and when he finally catches it, he turns back around and trots back to where I am standing, waiting to repeat the cycle of ball throwing which I couldn't say no.

Like come on, who can say no to that cute little face of his?

You would have to be the cruelest and heartless person in the world to say no to the pup or any other dog in the world for that matter.

I am exhausted, well at least my arm is. I have been playing for about three hours of ball with Dodger and all because I would feel bad for stopping and I really enjoyed playing with him.

We stopped for a break after the first hour and decide-well Dodger decided- play wrestle as I laid on the grass, which consists of thirty minutes, then per Dodger's request, we got back to playing ball for the rest of the other two hours.

"Come on bubba, let's go!" I call out to Dodger, waving his leash above my head to signify that we are leaving.

It's around two o'clock now and Scott informed me that we had to go back to Chris's house to meet the up with the man himself- as he called him about an hour ago during his break to inform us that production will be over in an hour and to meet him back at the house- drop Dodger off and freshen up so we can go out to eat for lunch, and let me tell you, he was not exactly pleased when he realized we were going to leave him at the house all alone.
