Chapter one - hot diggity dog

Unease is what Arlo felt as she stepped onto the Lego bus, not because she really had no idea where their class was going (some school excursion she assumed) but it was because she didn't see her parents at all this morning.
This happens on occasion as they both start their jobs early in the morning but this was the first time that they left no message. Arlo sat down and checked her phone, she had sent both her mother and father multiple messages but neither have responded. She looked up to see her classmates fill the bus laughing and chattering despite none of them having any clue as to what was going on. She had sat at the very front because she got travel sick easily and she liked looking at the view from the front window, however his was inconvenient as she had to turn her whole body around to see anyone. No matter how hard she twisted her Lego neck she couldn't see him. Arlo checks her phone again but this time she aims to make a call. He picks up.
"Hey babe it's me, Nick from the Netflix show Big Mouth"
"Where are you" She asked
"I'm very sick" he said in a feigned raspy voice, he wasn't fooling anyone
"Yeah yeah sure" Arlo was annoyed at him, she hadn't seen him at school in ages
"What did you call me for?"
"Oh nothing really"
"Alright whatever you say, toodles"
He hung up. Nick was really starting to get on Arlos nerves but she was determined to break up with him in person, that is if he ever shows up to see her.

The bus ride was uneventful, with not a word from the teachers about where they were heading. after maybe ten minutes they stopped at a harbour. "Alright everyone, I bet you all would like to know why we are out here,,, well that is because all of you get the special opportunity to meet Batman" the teacher states with excitement. Everyone's eye's immediately light up and the already loud chatter becomes louder as they leave the bus.
Arlo wasn't as excited, her phone had just ran out of data and her parents wouldn't be able to afford to recharge it for another 2 months. They still hadn't responded to her.

A yacht arrives at the harbour, a loud party yacht, but also one that seems rather empty. That wouldn't be entirely true though as in the front and center of the yacht there he was, the man himself, Batman. Without even docking the boat he flies of off it onto the land infront of the kids, infront of the bus. He starts to make a loud and dramatic speech but Arlo wasn't listening. She was nervous, tired and upset so her mind started to wonder. She looked at the Lego ocean, spotting dolphins flying through the air unrealistically to calm down, and maybe it did but it distracted her so much that she didn't notice that her class had left to a different spot nearby, where Batman and Robin were showing off, oh yeah Robin was also there.

Those were some nice dolphins.

She was drifting off standing infront of the bus, alone. Unfortunately she wasn't the only one drifting off. The poor, probably underpaid bus driver, hit the gas pedal with his little Lego foot, moving the bus forward at a short but increasingly swift rate. In case you couldn't figure this out already, Arlo got hit by a bus. The last thing Arlo saw that day were the calming waves on the distant shore with the last thing she heard being a deep dark voice followed by a voice that sounded a lot like Michael cera "dammit why do kids always get injured when we do these things" "at least it wasn't your fault this time dad!".
