~Chapter Twenty Three.~

~Zacks P.O.V.~

I grip the steering wheel tighter, as I make my entrance into the cemetery.

I never have liked cemeteries...They're so creepy.

In every horror movie, they're always haunted and have dead body's popping up out of the ground.

How creepy is that?

But, I push down my fright. I need to talk to him. He's the only one who understands me...Even if he is dead.

I drive down the path, looking out the window for his grave.

I finally see it, pull the car over, and park it.

I take a deep breath. It's been a while since I've been here to see him.

I push open my car door, and stand up and closes the door and walk up to the grave.

Ryan Morris Daniel

1992-2010

A Beloved Son And Bother, Who Will Be Missed By All.

Rest In Peace.

My eyes tear up and I take a deep breath, trying to calm myself down.

Ryan was three years older then me. He was seventeen when he died,

I get down on my knees and stare at his grave.

Ryan went to a party one night, and got too drunk. He was being stupid and decided that he was going to go on a little drive with his girlfriend, Ashley, who was also drunk.

"Hey, Ryan." I say to the memorial. "Nice day, eh?"

He swerved on the road and hit a semi, head on.

I look at the ground. "I'm sorry I haven't been here in a while...I've just been busy..."

He didn't even have a chance of living. He died as soon as the truck hit them. Ashley was in a coma for several weeks and the family had a choice, of whether or not they wanted to pull the plug on her, or keep her alive by the machine...She was brain dead. Her family ended up letting her go and pulled the plug.

I run my hands through my hair. "How did you do this? How did you deal with the pressure Dad put on you for so long?"

One of the reasons Ryan went out that night, was because he was rebelling against Mom and Dad. When my Dad was in High school, he was the star of the school. Dad wanted Ryan to be just like him and forced him to be popular.

I grip my hands into fists. "I can't take it anymore, Ry. I'm going crazy."

When Ryan passed away, Dad moved on to me. I have no choice but to be popular.

"He punched me again yesterday. I tried to tell him that I didn't want to be 'perfect' like him and he screamed at me and punched me in the stomach."

Dad was this way with Ryan. Ryan tried to fight back, but Dad was stronger then him and would beat him.

I pull a piece of grass from the ground forcefully and throw it as far as I can. "I'm not going to be able to hold back next time. I almost hit him back."

Mom, tried to stop him one day, when he was beating Ryan, but he turned around and slapped her. I still remember how pale her face turned and the tears that were in her eyes.

I laugh humorlessly. "He took away my stinking phone... Just because I broke up with Brittney." He found out one day, when she called the home phone, crying, when I wouldn't answer my phone.

Ever since he hit Mom, She has been a zombie. Literally. She goes around the house, with a blank face on, and won't talk to anyone.

I sigh and run my hand down my face. "And then there's Sophie. "

I tried to talk to Mom one day, and she just nodded her head at everything I said.

I smile softly at the ground. "I can't get her out of my mind." I look up at the grave. "Were you this way with Ashley, or did Dad make you date her too?"

Ashley and Ryan, were together all through High school...I never knew or not if Dad forced him to date her.

I frown at his grave. "Mike made me do a stupid bet. I have to get her to date me in two less then two weeks. But, she hates me, Ry. And if I don't, then I have to pay each guy A hundred dollars..I don't have that much money. And also, I won't be as popular and Dad will absolutely kill me. "

I look back at the ground, and play with the grass. "I used to bully her." I chuckle quietly. "A lot. But, her face was so cute to see it turn red and huffy."

I sigh. "I never meant to hurt her. And now, I regret everything that I have done to her. I don't want to hurt her more by this bet."

"Hurt who by a bet?" I hear a deep voice say behind me.

My eyes widen and I turn around quickly.

You'll never guess who I saw standing there.

Sophie's best friend...

Gabe.
