~Chapter Eighteen.~

"My baby is going on a date?! I can't believe it! Okay, first we have to do your hair, then your nails, and we have to get you a brand new outfit, and we can't forget the shoes!" My Mother rambled on.

"Mom, I don't want all that."

"Well, why not?" She asked me. "You can't go looking like..like..well, like a nerd."

"How many times do I have to tell you?" I ask. "I like how I look!"

She scrunches up her nose. "Oh, no you don't, Honey. You want to look beautiful for this guy, don't you?"

I laugh. "I don't really care what I look like in front of him." I say truthfully. "In fact, I don't even want to go on this date."

Her mouth drops open. "I don't know why not. When I was your ag-"

"Age you had plenty of boyfriends, I know. You've told me ten thousand times."

Why did I have to tell her? Oh yeah, I didn't...Gabe did. He thought it would be funny to see her reaction...so far, it hasn't been funny, just annoying.

"Yes, and it's true. You should listen to my advice. You'd be so much prettier."

Gabe intervenes finally and sighs. "Thank you for your wonderful advice, Mrs Green, But I think I can handle it now."

She frowns. "But, I want to help her. You're a guy and is not as experienced as a woman with fashion."

He laughs. "I think I got it." Gabe looks at me and winks.

"Fine, but don't blame me if he doesn't ask you out again."

"That would be fine with me." I say in my head.

"Okay. We better get ready now." Gabe tells my Mother, hinting that she should leave.

Mom begs me one more time with her eyes to let her stay and help me, but I just stared at her with no emotion. "Fine." She sighs. "Bye." She turns around and exits my room.

"I told you, we shouldn't have told her."

Gabe sighs. "Fine, I'm sorry. I just thought she would pass out or something."

I laugh. "That would be funny, but I knew she wouldn't. Now, let's just get this over with."

"Don't sound so excited, will you." He says with sarcasm.

"Sorry." I mumble.

~Thirty Minutes Later~

"Ow!"

"Sorry, but your hair is like a rats nest!"

I sigh. "Can we not hurry? My hair doesn't have to be perfect...in fact, I don't even want it near perfect."

"Too bad. You're going to look gorgeous before I finish with you." Gabe tells me.

"He's going to be here in.." I barely bend my head down to look at my watch and he pulls my head back up.

"Don't you dare move."

I whine. "I was just looking to see what time it is."

Gabe lets go of my head. "Fine, but don't move too much."

I roll my eyes. "Yes, Father." I look down at my watch. "He's going to be here in twenty minutes. Better hurry."

~Ten Minutes Later.~

"What did I tell you? Gorgeous." Gabe says, looking me up and down.

I blush. I'm not gorgeous...maybe pretty, but not gorgeous.

Gabe curled my hair and pinned it all to the side and put a flower in my hair. For my clothes, Gabe made me wear a jean skirt that goes a inch or two past my knees, and a Aeropostale pink short sleeves shirt.

"Why can't I wear my normal clothes?"

He rolls his eyes. "Soph, this should be your normal clothes."

"Well, too bad. I like my baggy clothes."

"Fine. Go get your shoes on. He should be here in about five minutes."

I nod and walk over to my closet to get my tennis shoes, and bend over and start to put my shoes on.

I can't wait to get this date over with.

After I put my shoes on, I hear a car horn, honk twice.

"Sounds like he's here."

My heart starts racing.

I can't believe I'm actually doing this. Did I lose my mind?

"Hurry up, Girl! Don't want to be late, do we?" Gabe says, while pushing me out the door.

"Why do I get the feeling you want me to leave?"

He pushes me harder and laughs. "I have no idea, Soppie. Now leave!"

"Fine, fine! If you stop pushing me, Gabriel, I'll leave!"

"What did I tell you about calling me Gabriel?" He picks me up and throws me over his shoulder.

"Gabe!" I yell. "Put me down now!" I hit his back.

He just laughs and carries me out of my room, down the stairs, and out of the house, then drops me down in front of Zack's car, smirking.

I punch his arm. "I am so getting you back."

"Hey, what's going on?" I turn around and see that Zack has his head sticking out of the window, with a confused look on his face.

"Hey, look here, Man." Gabe starts saying to Zack, seriously. "If you hurt her, even it you pull a single strand of hair from the top of her head, you will never see the sunlight ever again. You hear me?"

Zack nods his head quickly. "I wouldn't even think about it."

I look at Gabe. "Okay, I can handle this now."

He plays with one of my curls and looks into my eyes. "If you ever, ever need anything. Call me. Got it?"

I nod my head and push up my glasses. "Okay."

Gabe drops his hand and hugs me. "My little girl is growing up." He says, making his voice go up high.

I laugh and pull back from the hug. "Bye, Gabe."

He smiles. "Bye, Soppie" He turns around and starts walking inside the house, but not before turning around and giving Zack a threatening look one more time.

"Wow...He scares me."

I laugh. "He should." I get inside of his car, and slam the door shut.

"Now, lets get this over with."
