Chapter Seventeen~Commitment.

(Bruce's POV)

After sorting out a robbery I looked at my phone to see 9 miss calls from Eleanor and Alfred. I listened to the voicemail to discover that she was in labour. I swore to myself, she was going to be so mad with me, I had broken my promise. I quickly got into the Batmobile and rushed to the hospital, hoping that I would get there in time. Flashes of light hurt my eyes as I drove faster and faster to the hospital. When I arrived I ignored everyone who were yelling for my attention as I was in my suit. I ran through many wards until I heard Alfred's voice. I stepped inside to get weird looks so I took a deep breath and took off my mask. "Bruce Wayne?" The midwives echoed. I nodded and walked closer to Eleanor to hold her hand. "I'm so sorry I broke my promise." I apologised. "But your mask? People will know who you are, your company, Gotham." She wondered curiously. "I don't care about that at the moment, all I care about is you and our baby. Maybe it's about time that I reveal my identity to the world." I admitted. She smiled and I kissed her lips before she screamed again so I held her hand tighter.

It was a long six hours later when our baby was finally born. "Congratulations, you have a little boy." The midwife announced happily. I looked at Eleanor with delight. We watched him get cleaned before he was gently placed in her arms, I could already tell she was going to be a perfect Mum. "I'm so proud of you Eleanor, I love you so much." I beamed. She smiled and passed him to me. He had a full head of very dark brown, almost black hair and an adorable little face. "Have you got a name for him yet?" Another midwife asked. We both looked at each other and nodded our heads. "Joseph Thomas Wayne." She informed them. They nodded and wrote it down on a band to put around his ankles and wrists. "You're probably going to be in the paper for being here you know?" Eleanor said. I agreed and shrugged my shoulders making her grin. I felt so lucky to have her.
