TWENTY FIVE

ASTRA DIDN'T know how she ended up in the back of a truck.

She didn't know why her hands were taped up in her lap.

She didn't understand why she had a cloth duck-taped to her mouth.

And she clearly hadn't realised the leader of the Black Wolves sitting in front of her, a grim smile on his face as her eyes adjusted to the darkness of the vehicle.

"Fucking hell, I've missed that beautiful face, my Star." Was the sound that snapped Astra Hart out of her pondering, a sick feeling rising within her stomach as she slowly turned her head face on only to be met with an overly charismatic Kai Walker.

Really though, it wasn't much of a surprise, was it?

Astra wished she could just fucking kill this guy. Shoot him dead, or something. He was the root of all of her problems, after all.

"What, don't want to talk to me?" He asked, feigning sadness for a moment before an ear shattering laugh filled the truck. "Oh, I forgot, you're a bit preoccupied."

Astra swears, she tried her best to say fuck you under the duct-tape. It didn't work, but it's the thought that counts.

"How is she?" A voice from the front of the van questioned, Phoenix? What the fuck was this.

"Oh, my little star's doing just fine, aren't you?" He grinned, moving closer to the girls face, trailing a thumb across her duct-tape covered lips. "We're going to get to our destination real soon."

See, this is why she should've been given a gun Or a knife. Either would've sufficed.

Kai's hand lingered on her jaw, a cruel smile on his face as he watched her fearful eyes. What the fuck was he doing? "We could've had everything, star. Why did you have to stray?" Astra shook her head in an attempt to force the man to remove his hand, realising this, Kai sighed, "well, you can't know where we're headed. Sleep well, my star."

If she's being honest, when she woke up, Astra was shocked to find out she still had all of her limbs. And her restraints had been taken off ( well, minus her hands, which had now been tied to a metal chair with rope )

"She's awake!" A man Dylan? called, banging what seemed to be a metal pole against the floor five times, a light turning on after the fifth.

"Fucking hell star, you've been out for six goddamn hours. How in shit do you sleep that long?"

Scoffing, she leant her head to the ceiling of the globe-shaped room, her upper back resting against the metal chair. "You knocked me out, asshole. I'm bleeding and probably have a concussion."

"I won't lie, star, I've missed your face. But your attitude? That's already starting to get on my goddamn nerves." He admitted, walking closer to the girl, pulling up a wooden stool to sit directly in front of her.

"Isn't that a shame." Astra deadpanned, trying her utmost to stop herself from throwing up. What the fuck was Kai's plan?

Sneering, he grabbed the blondes chin, forcing the girls head down so she could look at him face on. "God you really do..." he trailed off, what was once remembrance in his eyes soon turned to pure, insurmountable anger. "You're meant to be mine. You know that? My star. I needed a star again. So I cared for you, more than any of these assholes." He said, gesturing to the surrounding room, Dylan's eyebrows raised in unsurprised annoyance.

"I'm not your star anymore." She said weakly, although she hadn't intended for her words to come off so pathetic.

He twisted his jaw, clenching in slightly although the sadistic grin still rested upon his face. "That was the wrong thing to say to me, star." He shook his head condescendingly, Astra swears she felt like she was about to be scolded by a teacher or some shit. "I was going to mention it, I really wasn't. But seeing as you're being so hostile-"

"You kidnapped me, what the fuck do you expect?"

"Don't!" Kai yelled, slamming his hands on the sides of her metal chair, "interrupt me."

Astra pursed her lips, her eyes begged to start watering, although she wouldn't dare let them. She couldn't.

"Apologise." He demanded grabbing her hands in his, squeezing them far too tightly.

The blonde remained silent. Her hands circulation slowly cutting off.

"I said," he grabbed her wrist, crushing them steadfastly, somehow breaking the skin, a excessive gash of crimson blood streaming down her hand, "apologise. It's not nice to be rude, you know."

Her throat began to close up the tears were threatening to fall "I'm sorry."

A glint of pride coursed throughout him. "Say it again."

"I'm so, sorry, Kai. Please, please let go." She pleaded, her head dropping to her wrists, wriggling them with all the strength she could muster, only causing the gash to grow larger.

"Well since you asked so nicely." He conformed with a smile. "See, my star, if you behave, nothing bad will happen." She nodded apprehensively. "I need you, star. If I don't have him, I know I'll have you. You didn't mean to betray me. You wouldn't." He affirmed, running a hand through his already messy hair.

"No, I wouldn't." She agreed, her head still looking down at her hands. She knew how Kai lived too see the fear in his victims eyes.

"Really?" Well, that certainly piqued his interest. "Tell me, then. When you were planning my murder, was it a part of your devious plan to entice that little agent Morgan, is it? into helping you enact your revenge?"

Astra's fearful attitude had now turned into one of confusion. How the fuck- "that's all in my apartment. How do you know about it?"

"How do I know? Come on now, my star. Take a fucking guess." Why did people keep telling her that? First Enzo, now Kai?

What did they know that she didn't?

"I don't-"

And then, there was a banging at the metal door. "FBI!"

Had the BAU found her? Or was she hallucinating while dying?

"Hand over the gun, Mack." Kai commanded to the man who stood silently behind Astra, the leaders eyes nervously glancing at the metal door as he scrambled to his feet.

Walking briskly towards the man, a Glock in his hands, he held it out, only to move his body away when Kai reached for it.

Angered, Kai repeated the phrase, "hand it over."

Rather than obeying the leader, Dylan raised his eyebrows in amusement. "This gun? I think I'll hold onto it." That was when Astra clocked it. Kai Walker was weaponless, defenceless, and if the FBI didn't break through that door in two seconds, Kai Walker would be dead.

"I'm the leader."

"We both know that's a lie you convinced yourself of eighteen years ago. You know, he told me to do this if we were ever caught." Dylan said, moving the gun pointing it directly at Kai. "Any last words?"

In all of her confusion, Astra knew she didn't want this. Dylan didn't deserve to kill Kai. Because she did. He'd taken everything from her.

"It always links back to the fucking stars." Kai laughed.

And then, the shot went off.

"FBI!" Muffled voices screamed as the door behind Astra fell with a bang. "Drop your weapons, now!"

Astra's eyes remained fixed on Kai Walkers body. He was the second person she'd seen shot today. The two strongest, most powerful men she'd ever known were dead, just like that. The nagging question of what he meant when he said, 'the stars', rung in her mind.

But that wasn't all.

No, you see, Astra felt spiteful. She wanted to pick up that stupid fucking gun and shoot Kai Walkers corpse. She deserved to get her revenge. She should've been the one to kill him. She should've.

Oh, but in her spite, she failed to notice the BAU run up to her. She wasn't able to comprehend the questions they threw at her. She didn't know her hands had been untied.

She hadn't even realised Dylan Mack was being handcuffed, a sick smile ( that she'd only ever seen on Kai ) forming on his face as he looked at the blonde, as if to say the answer is hiding in the background, this isn't the end. And perhaps he was right. Maybe she knew what was happening, she just hadn't pieced the subtle clues together yet.

"Astra? Astra?" Derek shook the girls shoulders harshly, attempting to break her from her daze.

Her eyes glistened over, looking at the man, she let the tears fall.

"Shit." He said, peering at the blood-covered blonde girl, "is this your blood or Kai's?" When he received no response, he yelled with all his might, "we need a medic, now!"

"He's..." she trailed off, looking across the room where Kai's corpse was being trailed off on a stretcher.

"You're okay, it's okay. I'm here, we're all here." Morgan reassured, holding a limp Astra in his arms, not caring if the blood from her sanguine soaked clothes got on him.

"You're hurt..." she began, looking at the bandages on his arm, but in her weak state, she felt her eyes drifting shut.

"We need a fucking medic!" Was the last thing Astra heard before she woke up in the back of an ambulance, Derek Morgan still bedside her.

"You're awake?" He questioned concernedly, "you're okay?"

"Derek, chill, I'm alright." Astra reassured, ( trying her best to ignore the dizzy as shit feeling in her mind ) looking down at her wrists, she noticed an awful lot of stitches. "What the fuck happened here?"

"You lost a ton of blood, Astra. You had gashes along your arms?" He raised a confused eyebrow at the girl, "did you not... notice?"

"To be honest, I was a bit preoccupied with watching Kai Walker get shot." She grimaced at the thought, spite still consuming her. "What happened to Dylan?"

Dropping his head, Morgan sighed, "he's been arrested, trust me he's not breaking out of prison this time."

Nodding, she asked, "and Phoenix?"

"Astra... there was no one else in the building." He informed her, carefully placing a hand to her head. "Have you got a concussion?"

"Well, I was in an explosion, and then kidnapped." She joked, maybe Phoenix wasn't in the van? She never saw Dylan there either, after all. Not until they'd arrived at the warehouse.

"Yeah, you definitely were." He nodded, a smile lighting up his face as his eyes met Astra's. "I'm glad you're okay. We went to all of Garcia's predicted Black Wolves hiding spots. This was the last place we went to. I don't know what would've happened if-"

"I know," she cut the man off, shifting her body ( that was sitting awkwardly on a gurney ) to face his. "Where is this place anyway?"

"An old astronomy place, got shut down years ago." Astra hummed, not really caring what his answer was, just wanting to keep the conversation going.

"You're hurt too." She pointed at the bandage plastered on his head.

"I've had worse." He dismissed.

Nodding, she smiled. "Thanks for saving me." Her voice came out far more hushed than she'd expected.

"Did Astra Hart just... thank me?" Morgan questioned, raising a hand to his heart, feigning shock.

"Well now it's never happening again." She laughed, averting her gaze breaking their weird longing look thing that had just occurred between them.

And then, Morgan did something Astra never had expected, he placed a hand on the back of her neck. "I'm glad you're not dead." He whispered, leaning closer to the blonde.

"Oh, fuck it." Astra sighed, and within a second, she closed the gap between them as her lips met his. She didn't care that she'd been injured as she attempted to move her hand, but before she could do so, Morgan moved his to her lower back, diverting her attention.

"Stop. You'll hurt yourself." He mumbled against her lips.

And for the first time in her life, Astra felt fully and completely at peace.
